Off Leash K9 Training, Richmond

We did the 2-week board and train with Austin for our 1 year old Australian Shepherd and the experience was top tier. On drop-off day, Austin took his time getting to know Winter and our goals for her training. He explained the process really well and I felt comfortable that she was being left in good hands. Throughout the 2 weeks, I loved that we received updates, pictures, and videos about Winter’s progress. On pick-up day, we got a thorough training session on the application and usage of the ecollar and all the commands Winter learned. We were able to practice many times and Austin gave great constructive feedback on how to execute and follow through with the commands. He was very patient and made sure we felt comfortable with everything before going home with Winter and the collar. The first week home was definitely an adjustment as our pup realized the training applied to home life now lol, but Austin was was readily available for us throughout the adjustment period and checked in multiple times to make sure things were going well. We are now 2.5 months post-training and Winter is doing great! She’s got better impulse control, leash-pulling has stopped, we eat meals around her without issue, she hasn’t had anymore accidents inside the home, and I’m able to comfortably go on morning runs with her without her excessive pulling and reactivity! Overall, 10/10 experience and will continue to recommend this place!

Austin did the board and train with Ms Luna. She has very bad separation anxiety and came from a breeding situation. She is 4 years old so he had his hands full. Luna loved Austin and just wanted to work and please. She came back a much different and mostly calmer dog. His worse students are her parents. We are just the worse. Luna has still some issues to work on when she is with us and Austin is helping with that. He is just the best and if you have a need for training you need to request him. We saw a video of him training a dog for a handicap person and he was doing the training himself in a wheelchair. Just awesome!!!

Honey, my 11-month-old puppy, had an amazing transformation with Trainer Ryan and the team at Off Leash K9 Ashland/RVA! When she started the 2-week board and train, she was shy, nervous in new places, and her tail was always tucked. Her recall was spotty, and she lacked confidence. Now, Honey walks proudly with her tail up and comes perfectly when called off-leash. The team’s communication and support made the process super easy and reassuring. Seeing her grow so much in just two weeks has been incredible. I’d 100% recommend Off Leash K9 Ashland/RVA to anyone wanting to take their dog to the next level!
