TLDR: Price - high, but completely worth it Quality - amazing, lasts a lifetime Scheduling - have to book a ways out I took the basic + advanced package with my American Rottweiler, Dakota. She was 4 years old when I got her and she came to me as a generally very good dog who mostly knew "sit," but she had little to no actual training. Although she was generally good, she did have issues with other dogs (which stemmed from some abuse/neglect in the first couple years of her life), and she could get hyper-focused on things (dogs, geese, rabbits, random people she thought were threatening, etc) and it was nearly impossible to break that focus until the object of her focus was no longer anywhere around. I have had dogs almost my entire life and have done a couple basic puppy obedience classes, but I've never gotten a middle-aged dog with deeply-rooted problems, so I knew we needed some professional help. A coworker recommended OLKT so I looked them up. The classes/packages sounded good, but the price felt too high. But my coworker swore by them, so I called them up. I chatted with Lindsay about the packages and how everything works, and my concern about the price quickly dissipated. Lindsay and OLKT seemed very knowledgeable and professional. The beginner + advanced package was 8 sessions. It's advertised as 8 weeks, but I want to say it ended up being a little over 3 months between the first session and the last session. Also, I initially called in July 2020 and they didn't have any openings until that November. They're well-regarded, therefore busy, so it can be difficult to get people in quickly. My main recommendation is to book all your appointments at the same time. I was told when booking that most people book the first couple of appointments, then book the rest later. Considering I had to book my first appointment 4 months out, I can't imagine how long it would have taken to complete the program if I had tried to book my second or third appointment after going to my first one. Or I don't know, 2020 was a crazy year, maybe that had something to do with it. My trainer was Becca, and she was fantastic! She was kind, understanding, helpful, and just so great with Dakota. My favorite parts about the program were: 1) they're flexible and will train YOUR dog. It's not a generalized training program for any dogs, the program is built around your specific dog and what you are going there for. 2) they don't just train your dog, they also train YOU. I knew me and Dakota needed help, but I didn't realize how much help I needed and how little I knew. My dogs had always been puppies when I got them and had been easy to train, so that's all I really knew. Becca would show me and Dakota a new command, and then basically let me take over while she would supervise and give pointers. So it was kind of like they were training me while I trained Dakota. 3) related to #2, they aren't necessarily teaching you specific commands, they are teaching you HOW to train. Sort of a "give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime" kind of thing. 4) you get their support long after your training. I actually called them up today (over a year after our training) because my collar remote was acting funky. They helped me fix it in about 15 seconds. User error, of course! All in all, I would highly recommend OLKT!

My husband and I recently put our 2 dogs through 2-week boarding / training with Kent Seiple. We have two very different dogs (in breed, demeanor, and age). Kent managed the both of them flawlessly and gave us great tips and insight on their dynamics and how that can affect training. We are very pleased with the results of the training, and looking forward to translating Kent's hard work into our day to day lives.

My little buddy, Mr Bugatti, just completed his 2-week training with Off Leash K9 Training Central Minnesota & his trainer, Kent. Bugatti learned so much during this time! Kent made sure to provide daily updates and even made mid-training adjustments that better suited how Bugatti was learning. His ability to adapt to the dog’s needs in real-time is essential for obtaining the best results. I also appreciated the tips that were provided to continue the training going forward. I am so thankful for the time & care that Kent took with Bugatti (a Frenchie), as this breed can be a bit stubborn! His patience was very much appreciated.
