★★★★★ 10 stars if we could — Bradley McKee is the dog trainer everyone hopes to find Choosing the right trainer was a huge decision for us. Rito isn’t “just a dog,” he’s a family member. We committed to the two-week board-and-train program with Bradley McKee (Off Leash K9 Training, Wilmington), and after completing week one, we can confidently say it was one of the best decisions we’ve made for our dog and our home. Rito is a 7-month-old pit mix, and we knew training a puppy would be interesting. Before Bradley, we were dealing with leash pulling, jumping on people, barking/reacting around other dogs and people, and a lack of confidence (even hesitating to jump into our truck). We wanted real-world discipline without losing Rito’s fun personality and Bradley delivered. We picked up a fun, loving, engaged puppy who is also disciplined, focused, happier, calmer, and eager to please. Rito’s strengths are now magnified. Two things truly set Bradley apart. First, he trained Rito in different spots every day, so the training generalized through real-life distractions and new environments. Second, his communication and follow-through were top-tier: texts, videos, and photos throughout the week, plus a detailed final video showing the exact routine he used and the small adjustments to make based on the environment, distractions, and how Rito responds in the moment. We also felt completely at ease leaving Rito with Bradley because Bradley’s wife is a vet tech by trade, which gave us even more confidence that Rito was in a truly safe, caring space. Our biggest “wow” moment was the pickup walk-through: Rito responded to our hand gestures and verbal commands—not just Bradley’s. Bradley built a strong bond with Rito without making him dependent on him, which speaks volumes. Bradley’s demeanor is fun, engaging, and confident; exactly what Rito needed while still being structured, knowledgable and professional. We’ll be reinforcing everything at home and then scheduling week two to fine-tune even more and take Rito to the next level. If you’re considering Off Leash K9 Training, request Bradley McKee.
