We are totally impressed with Gavin and his training technique. His years of experience coupled with his canine behavioral education is incredible! Our two Coton de Tulears had developed some very poor mannerisms at age three when Gavin introduced various techniques to establish a baseline of expectation. Just as impressive was Gavin's methods of educating us as the dog owners. I learned some unforgettable methods of dog training that can be used with any sort of obedience training. We've had a lot of dog trainers over the years in different cities and for different dogs. Gavin is the most memorable and best one that we've ever had in Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. His training methods have that perfect balance between positive reinforcement and setting boundaries for your dog. We had Gavin come and train our 8-month old schnauzer at our place every other week or so for a couple months (due to weather). The training methods and "homework" he gives are reasonable, effective, and realistic for having a well-behaved dog at home that is also your pet. If you're familiar with schnauzers, you may know that they can be an extremely stubborn breed. Many people think that they're notoriously hard to train, but Gavin was more than up for the challenge, and we had results from our first session. Our schnauzer went from a world-class leash puller and leash biter to the being the best dog at Garden of the Gods in just over a month. Walking our pup went from being something stressful and mildly insane to something we were proud to do. One of the best things about Gavin is that he's so knowledgeable that he was flexible with what we needed as a family. We have 3 dogs, so there were day-to-day things that we wanted to work on outside of training our schnauzer on the basics of being a good dog. From how to walk the dogs together, how to manage their space, and how to create a sane environment with 3 dogs, Gavin has so many effective, helpful tips that are easy to implement and truly make a difference. We enjoyed every session with Gavin, and our pup Grumpy is all the better for it. We look forward to continuing to use the methods he taught us with him and future dogs.
