I would caution against using any so-called Master Trainer that continuously brags about being a Master Trainer all over their website. As there is no actual certifying body, this is a title they gave themselves - unless he is a graduate of a training school such as Tarheel in NC that uses that title to denote graduation of their police canine course. Especially one that discusses training tools, but doesn’t even use the proper name of many training tools nor does he discuss their proper use. If you are considering using him, ask for evidence that the tools do what he claims. Ask to see visible proof of his training process that gets a dog to do behaviors based on his “voice” only. Don’t look at a dog he claims to have trained this way and think “oh this training method works” look at dogs in the process of being trained. A majority of trainers that claim to never use treats or aversive tools anywhere in their process are scam artists. I, admittedly, have never trained under this individual and, speaking as a professional trainer, never would. There is no one size fits all approach to dog training and anyone that pretends there is (refuses the use of tools) is a fool. All dogs don’t need tools, but some do! EDIT: It’s interesting that your response kind of proves the majority of low reviews you have - the arrogance your business displays. The expectations that someone reads your whole website before coming to you for training. Kind of interesting that if you’re such a master trainer that has been doing this for over 40 years that no one outside of Ohio really knows anything about you and the majority of trainers in Ohio laugh at you. Your website reads like a “as seen on TV” product I’d find on an aisle in Walmart that falls apart a week after you have it. I’ll take the advice of the Cam Ford’s, Glen Cooke’s, Jerry Bradshaw’s, Ivan Balbinov’s etc (all of which use training tools CORRECTLY without harming animals as you claim) over someone that outright demonstrates they don’t really know anything about the modern tools they are denigrating!

I have been going to Joey for a few months now. It is very clear he knows how to train a dog and without the use of corrections that would hurt the dog (choke, spike, or shock). He is kind to both the human and dog in session. He helps the human better understand how to work with the dog and he works with the dog as needed. He is super positive to both parties while training. He tries to make it fun and I appreciate it. My dog (golden retriever) has really turned a corner in terms of training. He is consistently listening at home and we are starting to work with him outside and with distractions. Joey has made a very positive impact on my dog and myself. - Justin

I recently avquired my belgian malinois puppy, I have been searching for the proper trainer to teach my dog everything he needs to know in order to be ebedient and to maximize his potential. I was turned down from petsuites because they dont have the proper training program for his type of breed. Today I met Joey and he is a genuine individual who showed me that he is passionate about dogs, just like me. He spent over 1 hour talking to me in order to better understand my needs. He also taught me so much about the proper training techniques, I cant wait to start working with Joey and take my Belgian Malinois to live this learning experience!

Joe is excellent, he is the ONLY trainer I’ve found that does not use horrible inhumane and animal cruelty practices. Methods other trainers use-choke, spike, shock etc. I refuse to train my dog in any other way. I’ve been looking for trainers since before I got my dog about a year ago and have been disgusted with the practices of other trainers blatantly telling me they would use shock collars on my dog. My dog has severe separation anxiety and WE are in desperate need of help. This is the only right way to train your dog people. Positive reinforcement training and voice control. And Ohio State K-9 is the ONLY school in Ohio I found that could help me train my dog in a way that I was comfortable; with 100% control with my voice. I am so happy I found Joe, he spent hours of his time on the phone with me listening to me about my dog and explaining his game plan to train me to fix it. Thank you so much Joe!

I’m so happy with everything i received for my dog Max and I. I was nervous at first but i truly got everything and more than what i paid for. He truly trains ME on how to handle my dog so Max and I understand each other. Edit: After graduating, Max developed aggression towards me with bones and toys. I tried to handle it myself with no success. I called up Joe and we immediately worked together again to fix the problem. I’m so proud of my dog and how far we’ve both gotten under Joe’s guidance.
