Ojai Board & Train

We brought our two high-energy dogs to Jeff for board & train: a massive 8-month-old purebred GSD (already over 80 lbs!) and a GSD/Husky mix. From the start, Jeff was incredibly accommodating. We needed an earlier drop-off and later pick-up on short notice, and he made it work without any fuss. When we arrived to pick them up, he took the time to chat with us and shared thoughtful advice on what our dogs actually need; not a rushed handoff, but a genuine conversation. What stood out most was his calm, composed demeanor. The puppers are not exactly social butterflies with strangers, especially the big puppy, but Jeff won them over fast. He gave the dogs plenty of space to run, managed interactions with other dogs carefully, and prioritized socialization in a healthy way. The surrounding nature makes for great walks, and it's clear the dogs were getting real exercise and enrichment, not just sitting in a kennel. Both puppers knocked out for a day or two once we got home, which is usually the case when we go for a 4-hour hike ourselves. He also kept us in the loop throughout with photos and updates, which gave us real peace of mind. If you have big, energetic dogs that need attentive, experienced care in a natural setting, Jeff is your guy. Straightforward, kind, and genuinely great at what he does. We'll definitely be back.

Jeff is the best trainer we have ever worked with. We have two female litter mates and every trainer told us were were kind of out of luck and made a bad decision. Not Jeff. He embraced the challenge and worked with them both simultaneously. Now we get compliments on how well behaved they are on a weekly basis. They are so much happier with the discipline he has instilled in them and the confidence he has instilled in us to continue to teach them on our own and with his guidance.
