On the Lamb

I brought our two year old dog, Obi, out there for his instinct test. Megan was our trainer and was great in working with the dog and explaining to me what was happening. They had three sheep in the pen with him and plenty of others in case they needed to be swapped. Was also cool seeing some of the dogs that are so well trained work the sheep, very impressive. Definitely worth the trip out here and the dog loved it, I think we will come back again soon for another lesson.

Wether you have an out of control collie or a spunky mutt, every dog is given a chance to learn at On the Lamb. Many dogs enjoy "bossing around" sheep and this gives an essential outlet for pent up instincts. If your dog nips your heels, attempts to herd ducks at the local pond, or is just plain high energy you should give this place a try. Training methods are positive and focused on the dog's enjoyment of the work, not the endless pursuit of ribbons or boring debates on whose dog is BEST.... a place where both human and dog can be themselves in a beautiful, cool valley setting. Highly recommended!

My dog had so much fun here!!!!! Megan was our trainer and we did an hour of herding. It was my dog's first time but she did great! She was super interested in chasing those sheep! Meagan was a pro - she really knew how to control the session giving our dog time to rest and really testing her limits. I love how she set the boundaries and is very consistent- something that my dog desperately needs! This place is far from me - an hour drive, but it's worth it since my dog was tiered for days after this training!
