Onward Bound Incredible Dog Training and Grooming

We are thrilled that we found Onward Bound. Our 7 month old Mastiff had some behavioral issues that we were unable to control on our own. Ally was incredibly helpful in explaining their positive reinforcement training program. Where other training facilities use harsh methods, onward bound uses positive reinforcement techniques in an environment which included living with his trainer (Karina) in a more natural home setting which helped our puppy “Winston” to make better choices. Winston went from being an unmanageable jumper and mouthy teenager to a much calmer and well behaved member of our family. We cannot thank Ally, Karina and their team enough for all of their help! We highly recommend Onward Bound they are the absolute best!!

The initial session demonstrated promise and this is not a review of the trainer’s capabilities. My review is about the the terms and conditions and poor communication. If you pay up front, as I did, you must pay close attention to the six month term limit. We registered our dog for $500+ of lessons and I lost about $300 of this because we did not use the lessons in time. This was in part due to being told I should work with my dog on initial training at home for a several weeks, and then also due to life getting in the way with an unexpected move. We had a second training at the end of the summer and were told to towel train our dog for several weeks. Didn’t realize the six month term was approaching. Alyxandra never communicated to us that we were getting close to the end of our six month term. There were zero communications initiated by her during the 6 month time frame after her first visit emails. I was refused a refund when I asked if one could be considered. While I understand the terms and conditions, I feel that if someone is truly invested in my dog’s training, there would be communication asking how training was going at home or if we needed to schedule new training times to utilize the sessions we had available to us. My money was gladly taken but was not gladly serviced.
