Out of the Bark

I had an amazing experience working with Dan at Out of the Bark. The improvement in our dog’s behavior has been incredible, and it’s made such a positive difference in our daily life. My dog is calmer, more responsive, and much more confident thanks to Dan’s training and guidance. As a veterinarian, I work with pets and pet owners every day, and I feel very confident recommending Dan not only for my own dog but also to my clients. It’s rare to find someone who delivers such consistent and meaningful results. Dan was recommended to me by UC Davis animal center. Athena was rescued after being abandoned. When I brought her home, she was scared of everything and soon her fear turned into aggression towards strangers and other dogs. Dan was patient and calm during my entire experience with him. He started by getting her comfortable with him, which didn’t take long! Dan’s experience with dogs with similar behavior issues really shined when I saw how close and comfortable Athena felt with Dan! Athena now howls whenever Dan leaves because he made such a big impression on her! Dan comes into each training session with a plan for the session, but his experience really shows when he sees something’s not working, either for me or for Athena, and he is able to adjust his training technique to work for both Athena and myself! I used to have to wait to take Athena out for walks until I didn’t see any dogs or people out, but gradually, I was able to take Athena out with both people and other dogs! Dan has changed both my life and Athena’s! Athena can now walk within a few feet of Milo (Dan and Megha’s little helper) and pay no mind to Milo. If you’re looking for trainers who know what they’re talking about, look no further! Dan and Megha will train your pet and YOU to be successful with any of your goals! I truly can’t thank them enough for everything they have done.

Cant say enough good things about Megha! We started going to group puppy classes and are now in group dog classes. She is training us as much as she is training our puppy! She is available outside of class for questions and has given us tips and tricks that we wouldnt have thought of (ex. preparing for the 4th of July and fireworks, polite greetings, sitting and staying at a restaurant, etc.) Looking forward to learning more and would recommend anyone on the fence! The price is more than worth it and for anyone thinking they can train their dog themselves, we thought we knew a lot, but shes taught us SO much more.

Worked with Megha and Dan for about 4 months to help us with our new puppy. She decided 1 family member was an imposter and this was clearly not something that she would outgrow. They were fantastic. Great training and strategies that we still use. It was such a plus to have the training occur on-site at our home environment. I definitely would recommend them- very knowledgeable- so grateful for their help with our pup.
