Over The Top Retrievers

Our dog was tricky extremely hyper and quirky. We quickly figured out we were not going to be able to train her by ourselves. Luckily we found over the top! The kennels are extremely clean, they insure safety at every point from bathroom breaks to training. The progression of our dogs skills was unbelievable. She still hunts to this day and follows all the commands she originally learned. We do of course do some brush up work but she has been able to remember her training. They are reliable and responsive and have great communication through the process. You won’t pick a better place for your dog training.

I brought my lab pup, Kimber there after researching and looking for a gun dog trainer for a long time. I had never sent a dog for training before and was apprehensive about giving up my pup for (that) long. After talking to Scott on the phone a couple of times and getting his philosophy on training and pressure and doing the right thing by the dog, and getting the owner involved in learning how to handle and continue the training, I knew I found the right trainer. After watching how Kimber responded to him and his wife Beth, and how positive she was around them, I knew I picked the right trainer. To this day, she flat loves them, and spins circles in her kennel as we drive down the driveway for a visit. When I dropped her off there I had a hyper, freak of nature with no manners. When I picked her up I had a well disciplined gun dog who walked through hunt tests and is a mellow, eager to please, happy to do her job dog. She is well mannered in the boat and blind and a blast to watch on pheasants. Since dropping her off for training, I have become good friends with Scott and Beth and everyone I send their way says the same thing. " The dogs turn out fantastic. They love training with them, and we feel like we have new friends in Scott and Beth. The list of places I would consider leaving my dog for training is short. Really short. I would trust them wholeheartedly with my dog, and without a doubt, they will be training my next gun dog. Why would I go anywhere else? I sent Kimber there 4 years ago, and to this day, she is obedient, calm in the blind, is 100 percent focused on work when it comes to hunting, and flat loves to go visit .
