Pack Perfect K9 Training

We had never really trained our Lhasa Apso before and she was very protective of us and our house. She would snip at other dogs and bark at passerby’s. At age 7, we thought it may be too late to train our little one. Finding Marie and PackPerfect K9 has been a godsend. Marie has worked with Kaia and with us in a positive nurturing way and Kaia has responded so well. She is confident, listens and obeys commands, does great around other dogs and people. We started with private lessons and now Kaia visits Marie and other dogs in a group setting. She is so happy and well adjusted. We could not be happier. Marie knows her stuff and is a caring and loving teacher.

I recently enrolled my GSD Husky mix and rescue pup, Gia, in a 10-day board and train program with Marie, who uses the “Training Between the Ears” (TBTE) philosophy. From the moment I met Marie, I was impressed by her deep understanding of dog behavior and her compassionate approach. Throughout the program, Marie focused on building trust and communication with Gia. I appreciated her emphasis on positive reinforcement, self-relaxation techniques, and socialization, which was perfect for Gia’s sometimes fearful-reactive temperament. Marie provided daily updates, including videos, which kept me informed and reassured while we were on vacation. By the end of the training, Gia not only improved her basic obedience but also showed significant progress in her overall behavior. The best part is that Marie taught Gia how to make better choices in free behavior, and she is now a calmer, more confident dog. I highly recommend Marie to anyone looking for a trainer who genuinely cares about their dog’s well-being and employs a thoughtful, effective approach like TBTE. Gia and I are so grateful! There aren’t enough descriptive words to describe the admiration and respect I have for the owner of Pack Perfect Canine, Marie. In the summer of 2022 we brought home our sweet boy Bernedoodle. Pretty darn cute and so very affectionate, however, the most difficult dog we’ve ever attempted to train. I searched and interviewed dog trainers for a good 6 months, so many of them do not give the one on one attention and affection that I wanted for Sunny, also many don’t tell you that once you have dropped your dog off they farm them out to other trainers. I was getting pretty discouraged as I had been looking in a wide Northern and central California area. One day while sitting in our Lake Tahoe home I googled dog trainers in the Reno area, I read through many websites and reviews until I came to Pack Perfect Canine, all of the reviews were 5 star. In reading the reviews and about her approach to dog training I was intrigued and hopeful, not to mention that her rates were among the more reasonable. Once I had spoken with Marie she invited and encouraged me to come out to her facility for a visit. The facility is perfect for the dogs with a large yard, dedicated shade and romping area as well as an indoor air conditioned area. Best of all though is Marie herself, she is so positive, confident, reassuring, and patient both with our dog and me. In the Spring of 2023 while Sunny was in training I received daily videos and reports. I marveled at the many hikes in the open area as well as city outings Sunny was being exposed to all while being trained and he was thoroughly enjoying his time with Marie. Sunny came home with the ability to listen and respond to commands. I had my doubts when I dropped him off as he was a serious bolter out the door, he loved to yank my arm out of my socket while on leash walks, if you called for him he would run in the opposite direction. The Sunny I picked up after his three weeks with Marie was such a pleasant, marvelous dog to have and be with. He is still very playful and affectionate but we are no longer stressed about taking him anywhere! Thank you Marie, as far as we’re concerned you are a “dog whisperer”.
