Marie is an amazing trainer. She helped me retrain my hound/Great Dane mix after moving from a house to an apartment and starting a job that required longer hours. She got him back in his groove and helped work with my dog walker as well. The one-on-one lessons were pointed to Jack's exact needs including resource guarding, crate training, and walking in a heel as we pass dogs, birds, cats, and any other number of distractions. She has a solid, broad, well established knowledge base that she is able to help other dog owners apply. Absolutely recommend her for any and all dog training.

I adopted a Maltese mix from a rescue organization, 3 years ago. Bridget seemed sweet and a little standoffish but I attributed that to the newness of our relationship. Soon, Bridgets aggression was revealed. She would growl, bark and lunge at the door whenever I secured her in her crate/kennel. Frankly, it scared the heck out of me. If I took her on walks she would growl and lunge at joggers, walkers and other dogs. Taking her to Pet smart was a mini nightmare. Senior citizens would think she was cute, often lean in towards her to say hello. By the time they heard my warnings to stop, she would be growling and lunging at them. I honestly felt like I had a dog with multiple personalities. On good days I saw Bridget... on bad days I saw Sybil. I felt so sad because, there were times when she was calm and sweet. Which told me that she has a softer side somewhere in her ... but, I was befuddled on how to help her. Then, I sold my home and moved in with my daughter and son-in-law. When ever my granddaughters would visit, Bridget would scare them with her aggressive behavior. This later impacted family gatherings and holiday parties. My daughter and son-in-law tried to help but I needed a professional. Bridget had some deep seated issues and I was not equipped to manage her. Unexpectedly, I was transferred to Reno for my job. I’m sure that as I drove down the street with my dog and belongings, my family had a huge party to celebrate their new found freedom. While in Reno I sought help for Bridget. We both needed to be trained in developing proper behavior for her. I was doing so many things wrong and I couldn’t figure out what would trigger Bridget’s bad behavior. Was it me? Was it the jogger, or other dog? Did I close the crate door too hard? Was my fear feeding her fear? I was at my wits end. I called around for help. Through some trusted friends, I heard about Marie. I was told she used a e-collar which is very similar with a tens unit. She also used positive reinforcement which peaked my interest. After reading her reviews, I called her for an assessment. I enrolled Bridget in a 3 week program giving Marie 24 hour access to observe a train Bridget over a long period of time. Marie figured out Bridgets triggers. She helped to build Bridgets confidence so she would not react with fear. She took Bridget to many, many outings. Quietly training Bridget to walk amongst people, other dogs and the busy outdoors. She taught Bridget to relax and enjoy playing with the waves in the river and to enjoy the fresh outdoors and long walks in the mountains. She taught her to feel confident during short walks to the park and to most importantly to behave and listen to commands. Bridget no longer snaps when taking food/treats from my hands. She no longer pulls when we take walk. Bridget no longer growls, barks or lunges at humans, other dogs or the crate/kennel door. When it’s mealtime, she sits in her “place” in the “down” position” and waits until I give her permission to eat her meal. The change in Bridget is truly a miracle. I feel as if I finally have the pup that Bridget was meant to be. Of importance, Marie, Bridget and I spent lots of time together so that I too, could be trained. We are constantly in communication to correct my leadership or tweek Bridgets behavior. I knew going in, that it was critical to mimic Marie’s method in order to have a successful outcome for Bridget. If you’re on the fence, think about this. When you got your dog, he/she committed to you. Just as you made a commitment to it. The fact that your pup has issues, baggage, fears, or insecurities, does not mean you give up on it. Your pup is committed to you and likewise would never give up you. So, if you’re having problems, it honestly couldn’t be worse than mine. Consider calling Pack Perfect and ask Marie to meet with you and your pup. She’ll give you an honest assessment and if she can help your pup, she will. Honestly, once the training for both of you is established, your pups life and your life will be radically altered.

We have two dogs who are a challenge. Before Marie worked with them, we were seriously considering re-homing them b/c they were out of control. The boys spent a week at sleep away boot camp and then recently had some tune-up sessions. I’m happy to report that they are much less challenging and we understand how to handle them much better. We feel like we finally have more control over them in a way that allows us to keep them with us. We went from being a family that could never have people in the house to being a family that just had a stranger in their house for over 45 minutes with the dogs out of their cages and sitting in place the entire time. This is a dramatic change for us. What is so great about working with Marie is that it is clear how much she loves and respects dogs and she does an excellent job of explaining how to continue their training at home. We hired 3 different dog trainers (wasting a lot of money) before finding Marie. None of the other training had any impact. Marie’s training is still working after 2 years. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!!
