We first found PacwestK9 around 5 years ago when our adopted rescue dog needed some extra training for her reactivity and fearfulness. The training was very helpful for our dog and incredibly educational for me in learning how to deal with reactivity. To this day, our dog is completely different both at home and when we’re out on walks or hiking the trails! She will always be fearful of new people and strangers, but the training with Pacwest helped me learn how to effectively navigate that when it arises. We have since stuck with Pacwest for dog boarding services, as I’m confident in Gina’s abilities as a trainer and dog handler. Given our dog’s fearfulness and reactivity, I always felt extra stress trying to find a sitter or boarding for her when I was away. Now leaving her with Gina has taken away that extra stress when we travel! We also added a new puppy to our family in more recent years and again sought out Pacwest for board & train services when he was a puppy. They did an excellent job training him and in teaching us the best ways to handle him and his unique temperament when he transitioned back into our home. We continue to send both dogs to Gina for boarding, and we recently added a baby to our family. Gina was quick to offer tips for teaching the dogs boundaries around the baby and readily offered advice via text message if we ever have any concerns come up. We love working with Pacwest K9 for so many of our dogs needs and cannot recommend them enough!!

We did the 2-week board and train with our GSD at PacWest K9 when she was just one year old, and it made a world of difference. They built a strong foundation with basic commands and leash walking that we still rely on today. Her obedience has only continued to get stronger, and that early training truly set her up for success. The team at PacWest K9 clearly knows what they’re doing. They’re patient, knowledgeable, and especially experienced with the German Shepherd breed, which gave us a lot of confidence. They also offer free monthly group training for life after completing a board and train program, which is such an amazing benefit and helps keep skills sharp over time. We now also use PacWest K9 for boarding whenever needed. I have complete peace of mind knowing our pup is well cared for, has plenty of safe space to run, and gets to just be a dog. We’ll absolutely keep using them and happily recommend them to others.

Working with Gina has been a game changer for my dog Sydney. Her decoy skills are exceptional, but what really stands out is how thoughtfully she reads and approaches each dog. She made both Sydney and I feel comfortable right away. I am new to bite sports, and I wish I found Gina sooner—I’ve learned so much since going to her. It’s not often that you find someone that decoys and has the titles on their own dogs to prove their skill. Since training with Gina, I’ve seen a huge improvement in Sydney’s confidence, her ability to switch drives, and her obedience around bite work. Everything feels more clear, more controlled, and more connected. For the first time, I truly feel like we’re ready to start chasing our PDC. If you’re serious about building a strong, confident, and clear dog in protection work, Gina is the real deal.
