Panhandle Dog Trainer

If you are looking for an excellent all around dog trainer, you came to the right place with Panhandle Dog Trainer Devlin and his wife Rachel. Our Wheaten, Brody, has had some bad experiences with other dogs and as result was becoming quite reactive to other dogs. Brody spent three weeks with Devlin and came back a changed animal. He now walks calmly past other dogs, on and off leash, and we feel comfortable taking Brody to places where we are bound to run into other dogs. It was difficult giving up Brody for three weeks. But Devlin made it easy to follow Brody’s progress with pictures and video updates on Facebook that showed Brody walking off leash shoulder to shoulder with other dogs, recalls on a busy dog beach, sit stay while Rachel rode her horse close to Brody (and Brody even got a kiss from the horse). It was also evident that Brody was comfortable with the training and enjoyed himself. Devlin provided training material and resources so we can continue working with Brody to cement his new behavior. It is comforting to know that Devlin will continue to be there for any questions as we move forward. The results far exceed our expectations. I highly recommend Devlin! I sent my 2 dobermans & am 100% happy I did! Before training I couldn't take my babies anywhere as they would walk me, not me walking them! Now I am able to take them to the beach, park & ballgames. One of my pups was neglected/abused by the prior owner & he needed a lot of work as he is scared of his own shadow, he has come so far from the training he received & I'm so grateful I can give him the best life he deserves! Excellent communication & understanding too! Highly recommend!!

I cannot recommend Devlin and Panhandle Dog Trainer enough. My husband and I adopted a 8-10 month corso mix, Hera, and she has been very difficult train. We did a 1st training but it was not enough, our dog was still reactive to dogs (and all moving things), lazy and she wouldn't always listen to the commands. After 1 month with Devlin, she was another dog. She is much calmer, and she listen very well. She does incredibly well in crowded spaces and off leash. We have been traveling with her, bringing her to the beach, camping...and she has been doing just wonderful! Thank you so much, Devlin. we enjoy so much more our time with Hera!

We had a great experience with Devlin, who trained our 6 month old black lab, Chip, in December 2024. I would recommend Devlin to anyone who is considering him as a trainer. Prior to hiring Devlin we had never done a board and train. Chip, like a previous lab we owned, pulled on the leash, jumped on guests at the door, and selectively listened to the handful of commands we taught him ourselves. We adored Chip, but he was more or less an immature, energetic teenager with his own agenda. Fast forward to today and Chip walks peacefully beside us on walks, stays on all fours when greeting visitors, and dutifully comes when called. However, Chip's progress is not limited to simply "behaving" or responding favorably to a set of commands. For a 7 month old dog he is now remarkably mature. He also seems much more focused on on the humans in the house. He's attentive, stays by our side, and looks for eye contact, as if to say "what's next?" As Devlin explained, Chip is now looking to us as his source of information, as opposed to being left to his own devices. This has been transformational in our relationship with Chip and we have found it percolates into all manner of other things which were not specifically part of the board and train program. For example, Chip is now easier to bathe, stays off the furniture, and has started playing fetch regularly, something he only did selectively before. We've recently described him as "Chip, but easy." It must be pointed out that Devlin is a serious professional and one of the hardest working people I have met. Devlin's transport vehicle, the hours he keeps, specially designed property, and obvious expertise are all signs he has invested a huge amount of time, money, and energy into his operation. I imagine there are many different viable approaches for training different dogs, but it seems more important to me to find the right person. Devlin is that guy.
