Hello I would like to get a pet therapy certificate to go to nursing homes etc for a dog that I am thinking of adopting. Do you offer these classes? Thanks Leslie M
Yes we do! We recommend taking our obedience courses (starting with Beginner thru Advanced). A couple months prior to the evaluation we offer a 4 week Therapy Dog Prep class. The evaluation is held once a year in either late May or early June.

How old does your puppy need to be to start training and do they need all shots first?
The puppy class says you can start as early as 8 weeks- 6months that's for the puppy class and then the beginner obedience they have to be 6 months or older and yes you need proof they are up to date on vaccines

I have taken my dog to several classes at Patience Inspired Dog Training. We like that the classes are small, I think the most dogs ever in a class was 6, smallest 3. We started bringing our golden when he was just a puppy @ 4 months. We are thought how to deal with his behaviors in a manner that is gentle & kind. We have worked both with Shevy & Michelle & are very happy with our results!

That was helpful because when you are in a session for an hour, sometimes its a lot to take in all at once but the book really helps.
