Patriot Dog Training

Our 1 yr old Labrador, Brandy, went through the 3 week program... she was always a sweet dog... but too hyper around kids or when we took her somewhere...jumped ...and when we went for a walk...pulled me!! Brought her home yesterday and what a difference! I know we'll need to work with her but so glad we chose Patriot and David!! He has so much experience and I know we'll continue to enjoy and be proud of Brandy!! Thank you!!!

I sent my dog to patriot after he continued to bark in his crate, attempt to escape and be destructive when he did successfully escape. He completed basic training elsewhere and the crate issue was our main concern. Erica, the manager assured me they could resolve it and teach him more advanced commands (since he already completed basic training elsewhere). On his second day they insisted he needed CBD, I was already trying this route and I said I could mail it (I live 45 min away). The manager Erica insisted I bring it, so I did. I found Erica in her office playing the piano. The communication was great, until my dog was there for a few days then it ended. While he was there, I only received a handful of photos over the several weeks only of him sitting in the same spot (which he knew how to do). If I did manage to get on the phone with Erica, it was always a rushed conversation due to her “busy schedule” but she has time to play the piano during work hours? Fast forward to the week he was scheduled to come home, it was very disorganized and none of the staff were on the same page. Erica called me the day he was supposed to be delivered (you’re not allowed to go to the facility - major red flag). She was panicked and belligerent and was trying to keep the dog for more time (stating she didn’t have anyone to bring him and he wasn’t ready?) which I was not going to allow because the situation already felt off. So after a heated discussion with Erica, he was delivered home, skin and bones. He is a one year old dog and a good eater so this shouldn’t be the case. They tried to tell me he lost weight because he was neutered one week before. I contacted the vet, checked their procedure notes and he was already 16lbs skinnier BEFORE the procedure. He was delivered with wounds on both paws and he was missing most of the hair under his chin on his neck (from the insanely tight e collar). They brought the 60mL CBD back 3/4 full after several weeks of being there... it should have been empty. I did wonder if they got him more cbd elsewhere since it was “so important”. He came home with a cone collar since he was neutered and it was covered in urine... The dog was completely house trained for months before going to patriot so he was obviously not let out and was forced to urinate in his enclosure. Totally disgusting. I still do not know what type of enclosure or crate he was in. He does not know any additional commands. He still barks and tries to escape his crate. The trainer did a session the day he was dropped off and the second day he was home and the dog continued to bark in his crate. Such a waste of time. This place has major red flags and I deeply regret sending my dog here. If you’re not allowed to tour a facility, then I would strongly recommend you find a place that will open their doors so you can see what’s going on. And lastly, if you’re wondering if I got to speak to the “amazing” Benito? No never, I only received the bill from him and a message stating they might bring MY dog back to the facility after his training session at my home. That was our only correspondence. Do not send your dog here. Very sketchy place.

I am extremely disappointed with our experience using Patriot for our 5-month-old Belgian Malinois. We had such high expectations after our neighbor raved about Benito. From the start, communication was poor. We had to reach out multiple times just to get basic updates instead of the team being proactive about scheduling or progress reports. Over the entire 4-week program, we only received two updates. One of them simply said, “Well, he has puppy energy…” — which felt dismissive and not at all helpful for a paid training program. We were told to expect weekly scheduled follow-ups, but that absolutely did not happen. We received only a handful of photos the entire time he was there. Most concerning of all, our puppy only gained 2 pounds in 4 weeks. For a growing Belgian Malinois, that was incredibly alarming and raised serious concerns for us about his care and nutrition while in their program. After we picked him up, we also received zero contact regarding the follow-up training sessions that were included in our 4-week package. No outreach, no scheduling — nothing. We gave up. Overall, the facility was disorganized, communication was lacking, and the experience did not meet the expectations that were promised. I cannot recommend this training service.
