Pavlov Dog Training - Portland

Pavlov training and their trainer Kylah turned our “good boy” into the best boy! Kylah really listened to us when we discussed what we were looking to get out of the training and what we felt our dog, Porter, needed to work on. Porter did the on leash and off leash training and he learned SO much and loved his time with Kylah. The follow up training sessions are an added bonus. Kylah is knowledgeable, responsive, caring, flexible and answered all our questions. I HIGHLY recommend Pavlov Training!!!

I highly recommend Kylah and Pavlov Dog Training. Teddy, my Labradoodle, was a handful prior to two weeks of board and train. He pulled on a leash, counter surfed, put everything in his mouth, and jumped on people. I had to chase him around the house to get back the remote, get my socks out of his mouth, or put him on a leash. I could no longer have any doors open if I didn’t want him to have a bar of soap in his mouth or toilet paper across the house. I was amazed by the video updates and couldn’t believe that this was my dog. He was able to heel while walking outside and in a pet store, sitting calmly on a cot waiting for a meal or when someone knocked at the door and not at all interested in a remote. The handoff after two weeks was seamless. Kylah was so supportive and encouraging to both of us. Teddy is now a joy to be with. He parks himself on a cot and waits patiently for meals. He heels perfectly and doesn’t pick up anything on our walks. He responds quickly to any corrections. Family and friends are no longer hesitant to come over for visits. This was money well spent.

My newly adopted GSD mix Harvey was really struggling with leash reactivity, as he had never had any experience on a leash prior to us. We decided to send him to the 3 week board and train with Kylah after reading all the positive reviews. I was honestly very nervous as you hear horror stories about board and trains but this has been nothing but a positive experience for both me and Harvey. Kylah is clearly a very talented trainer who cares immensely for your dog while they’re in her care and beyond. Harvey came back to us a different dog on leash. His reactions, which before he left included lunging and SCREAMING at other dogs, squirrels, cows etc. from 200 feet away are now minimal on a ‘bad’ walk and non existent on a good one. We’ve walked through pet supply stores and hardware stores with no issues and today during follow up training he sat calmly at a coffee shop patio surrounded by other dogs with not one freak out. There is work still to be done and there always will be. But we can see a path through his reactivity now that we couldn’t see a month ago, and life with Harvey is just getting better and better thanks to the training and the tools Pavlov and Kylah have provided us.

We could not be happier with our experience with Meredith at Pavlov. Our dog, Maple, was a highly-reactive dog who would have trouble seeing, hearing, or even just smelling other dogs. She would lunge, bark, growl, and whine at other dogs and people. Because we live in a highly populated area (Pearl District), we felt like we couldn't take her anywhere outside without her having a major reaction. We tried other trainers and training techniques, but none of them worked. After three weeks with Meredith, Maple is a brand new dog. Maple is more obedient than ever. We are able to take her almost anywhere (coffee shops, grocery stores, public parks, etc) and trust that she will be able to handle it. She's even able to pass a busy dog park without a reaction. There are times when Maple shows slivers of her old behaviors but through our private lessons, Meredith has taught us ways to reinforce her training and build her confidence. I'm not kidding when I say Meredith has changed our lives! I highly recommend Meredith and Pavlov to anyone and everyone. It is an investment, but it is so worth it.
