Paw School

Due to COVID restrictions with my work I was unable to take my puppy, Rudy, to classes this summer and was resigned to the fact that I was going to have to let the remaining block of classes that were credited to my account go to waste and expire. I had mentioned this in passing to the staff and without me asking, they extended the expiration date for the classes. Rudy went to his first class last night since my COVID restrictions were loosened and was VERY excited and unresponsive to me. Yes, he was the problem puppy in the class. The trainer, Alex, instructed us to try and work in the lobby away from the distractions, and then gradually get closer as Rudy calmed down. We tried this for a few minutes, and when Rudy was still too jazzed up Olivia gave me some higher value treats to work with which did the trick. We were ultimately able to come back to the class and Rudy was significantly more responsive to me. After all this, Alex told me that they would refund my credit for this class since Rudy had to leave for a few minutes. (Definitely above and beyond, since Rudy ultimately came around and got something out of the class.) The staff is 10 out of 10 and I'd recommend Paw School to anyone looking for a dog trainer, even if you're arrogant like me and think you can train your dog on your own after watching three Zak George youtube videos and half an episode of the Dog Whisperer. The combination of professionals providing you with their feedback specific to your dog and the training environment at Paw School is invaluable and I intend on taking Rudy until he can dance the macarena.
