Paws Awhile Canine Camp

Can't say enough good things about Angie and her program. Glad we found her and got our pup off on the right start with some basic obedience. The board and train was wonderful and we knew our pup was in good hands. Her wealth of knowledge, understanding of various breeds, and techniques for training were outstanding. She cared for pup like it was one of her own. Would 100% use paws awhile for any training needs in the future.

Upon picking up the dog, first she billed us $1200, but when questioned said she got confused and it was actually $600. Well that's still a problem because we were expecting to pay $450 based on the prices advertised on her website. When discussing this she continued to demand 33% more per night claiming that she told my wife the real price verbally when the dog was dropped off. Yet, that isn't true. What actually happened was that my wife told her that we saw the prices on the website and that's why she drove an hour each way rather than leave the dog at the vet down the street. The entire reason we bothered to drive to New Market was the advertised price! When we first called or first visited with the dog that would have been the correct time to tell my wife that the website was old and wrong, but we weren't told about that error until we were told to pay the extra $150 after boarding was complete. So instead of taking responsibility for her own website content and her own business, she dismissed the only written price information and the only pricing information communicated to us as irrelevant. Advertising one price then demanding 33% more upon pickup is, to put mildly, an irresponsible thing to do. Putting the mistake on the client's shoulders was very unprofessional, as was not providing a written estimate in advance. We could have just paid the advertised $450 and shown the saved copy of the website to any judge in Alabama if it came to that, but we gave her $600 to be done with the situation. I'm surprised she continued to demand an extra $150 and after acknowledging that her website prices were different. So get a really solid written estimate in writing before you drop your dog off, or go elsewhere, because who knows what the charge will actually be in the end. By the time you bring your dog there, maybe the actual price will be 100% more than what was advertised, maybe worse, and maybe you'll be blamed for it!

Angie did an excellent job! My pups came back to me happier than ever. I could tell they were treated right and enjoyed their stay. They were kenneled near other dogs during the night but were able to run and play with each other during the day in a huge yard. I left bones with them to chew during the night and their own bed and blankets and also brought enough food for their stay. I will definitely use Paws Awhile for any other trips I have planned down south. The pricing was very affordable (225$ vs. the 700$) we were quoted for the state we currently live in.
