Paws Down Best Dog Training

Hector started our training with an in home consultation which was amazing. We had him over when our dog Penny was at her highest level of excitement, with guests visiting. He immediately was able to calm her down and have her lay next to his German shepherd Bruno. I say "our" training because, not only has he been training our dog, but he has also provided guidance as to what we need to be doing with her throughout the process. Penny is in the semi intense training program because she gets super excited around new people. She's a big bundle of love! We were worried she'd knock someone over in her excitement so we decided on training. Semi intense training sounded a little scary to me and my wife but Hector quickly explained that the program was meant to help Penny with the things we wanted addressed. He assured us that his methods were based on love and care for the dog and never on fear or intimidation. He was highly recommended so we decided to move forward with his program. We're in the last week of the program and Penny has become a new dog. She's still the loving pup we love but now she knows how to show it without jumping on people. Hector has accomplished everything he promised and, as mentioned above, has kept us in the loop every step of the way. I can't recommend him enough!

Hector at Paws Down Best Dog Training did an outstanding job with our sweet golden doodle, Penny. While Penny has always had a friendly, loving temperament and was well-behaved with us, she struggled with respecting people's space, often jumping and reacting excessively around new people. She also tended to bark quite a bit when anyone approached our home and lacked confidence with other dogs, becoming overly protective of her space and over-correcting other dogs. As we approach the final week of the Semi-Intense Board & Train sessions with Hector, Penny is still the same sweet pup we know, but her behavior has improved tremendously. We couldn't be more thrilled with the progress she’s made! We are incredibly grateful to Hector and his team for their care, patience, and expertise. They are truly amazing and deeply intuitive when it comes to understanding a dog’s needs. If we had any reservations about leaving Penny in a new environment with strangers, all doubts vanished after seeing how happy and excited she was to greet Hector on drop-off day, just one week into the training. We can't thank them enough!

Paws Down is one of the most patient and caring trainers in El Paso. First off upon intros Hammer gets to know the dog and really gets to their level. Hammer checks in daily with calls, pics and videos as you request. Hammer is genuinely concerned about the overall well being of the dog. He does not got straight to E- collar which I find is the norm in El Paso. Our pups Rocky lacked confidence and manners. After only 2 weeks he was able to play with other dogs, tolerate cats AND not pull on a leash. It was an amazing transformation. Last thing is Hammer also trains the owners. He provides 4 individual 1-on-1s with the owner and the dog so you both are on the same page. I cannot say enough good things about the board and train services.
