Can’t say enough good things! Let me say, we’ve had our boy Trigger since he was just puppy, we raised him with a lot of love and attention. However, he slowly became, what we thought was, aggressive, and we didn’t understand how that happened or how to control this lunging 85lb dog in public. We met with Troy for a consult, who greatly understands dog psychology, and realized Trigger is not aggressive, but rather very anxious! The first step was understanding what was really going on with our dog. We did weeks of personalized one on one training, with great results. Troy was very knowledgeable and understanding, but also strict (which we ALL needed). It is not just about training the dog, it is also about training the owners. We all still need to practice on our own and make it into a life habit. But thanks to Troy, we have the knowledge and tools help our boy.

We adopted PJ from the Phoenix shelter when he was about 8 months old and initially tried/failed to do training on our own without outside help. We shopped around for a trainer and were very happy with our choice to do lessons with Troy. Troy quickly picked up on PJ's anxiety as well as our own actions contributing to unwanted behaviors and worked with us over the course of 6 weeks. We have seen a huge improvement with PJ and an overall calmer/happier dog. I would recommend Troy to anyone looking for lessons or even advice through an evaluation.

My dog, Nala, is special (not in a good way ☹). I knew she had issues when I adopted her. I thought that I could work it out since I had dogs all my life. Within a few months, I knew that her issues were well beyond what I could fix. My vet recommended Troy who is special (in a good way 😊). Troy realized early on that Nala’s issues were severe and eventually determined that she probably had 5-week puppy syndrome. Troy saw how dedicated I was to help Nala and he put in all his experience and expertise and even discussing with other trainers to better help Nala and me. Troy has had to think out side the box many times to find things that work for Nala. Troy is very dedicated and good at what he does. Troy will give you the tools to succeed and help you work with those tools. If you are patient and practice, practice, practice what Troy tells you to do, it will work. Nala has stayed with Troy for training a few times and each time Troy has had to work on different issues. Nala always comes home a better dog. For Nala’s issues, it has been a long journey (since Nov 2014), but she is so much better and is getting better all the time. It was not a quick fix for Nala and Troy did not give up on her and neither have I. I am so thankful for Troy. He helped save Nala’s life.

Thank you Troy for all your help with Miss Wrigley. She is no longer a scared little puppy and can spend hours in her crate with zero anxiety. We highly recommend Paws To Train Your Dog.

We adopted Bailey in February 2017 and discovered she was very lovable with humans, but seemed fearful of other dogs and had trouble listening to commands. Walks were a nightmare and we felt in over our heads, as we also found out we were expecting our first child right after we brought her home. We found Troy and enrolled Bailey and it was amazing! Within the first day, he was sharing a picture of her socializing with other dogs and being a good girl with the leash. He helped us feel comfortable and in control, so we never felt overwhelmed or frightened when we had our son. We continue to have Bailey train and board with Troy and couldn't be happier we found him!
