I contacted Karen early in the summer to help me with some troubling behaviors that my new rescue exhibited. She met us for a 1:1 session and I learned so much. The behaviors continued as I tried different things but I felt more hopeful after that session. Since the fall we have taken Karen’s 101, 201 and 301 classes. My little girl Hannah’s disturbing behaviors have improved so much mainly through Karen’s guidance. I learned to be more patient with her and to understand she has had a traumatic past. I’ve gone from seriously wondering if I can keep her to having a very strong bond. I used to carry a squirt bottle of water to use when she misbehaved and now I’m able to talk her through it. She gets lots of praise now. I miss her when she goes to day care and it used to be a relief to have some time away from her. Karen packs a lot of experience and knowledge into each class and the time flies. I’ve enjoyed watching all the dogs and humans grow and bond with each other. I’ll always be grateful for Karen’s guidance. We can’t wait for 401 classes!

My dogs and I have been fortunate to train with Karen for a number of years. Karen's approach to puppies and dogs emphasizes the bond between human and dog. Not as master and slave, but as partners. I can say unequivocally that my dogs loved their classes, and I loved learning how to better communicate with them, without force, without severe corrections, while honoring their individuality. I get many compliments on how well behaved my dogs are (7 Australian Shepherds) from friends, strangers, vets and vet techs; that is absolutely due to Karen's patience and training. Thank you Karen!
