Peoria Obedience Training Club

POTC is the place to go to get your dog and you, the dog owner, trained. I have two dogs adopted from local shelters who each came with their own behavioral issues. I took both dogs to the Obedience 1 course and this helped me understand how to work with my dogs and get them trained. I am now getting involved in some of the activities offered at POTC and I became a member last year. Getting active with my dogs has helped both them and myself enjoy each other's company more and it gives the dogs acceptable behaviors that they know are appropriate.

I took both of my dogs here for obedience 1 and the class was fabulous. The trainers and helpers in the class were very knowledgeable and very helpful. They all had experience in showing dogs for obedience, rally and agility and incorporated some of those tactics into the class. They allowed the dogs and owners to learn at their own pace and didn't force the dogs or owners to do anything they weren't comfortable with. With one of my dogs I use a training collar and for the other a harness... they had no issues with this and understood each dog is unique and different. They didn't make us feel embarrassed that one dog learned at a slower pace than the other, but instead were VERY supportive. We plan to become members here so that we can bring our dogs to practice their obedience more often. Overall, this place is a GREAT resource for dog owners in Peoria and I would say is one of our best hidden secrets. I wish more dog owners in Peoria knew about this place.
