We were ready to give up our 1 year 9 month old male golden retriever Cooper. Elise patiently listened to the serious issues we were having with him. For starters he was low growling at my husband and would get so frenzied around him it escalated to slight nips. It started from when he was a puppy. It got to the point where we felt like we had to get rid of the dog as it was a safety concern. In my heart I thought there was a good dog in there somewhere but was really getting concerned as he seemed to be getting worse with age. When we first came to see Elise we told her she was our last chance. If this didn’t help (we had gone to a few others) we had to get rid of him for safety concerns. He was beyond “training with trainers” we needed a certified behavioral consultation. When we first came in with Cooper, he started his negative behavior. Elise calmly assessed the situation. She totally took command and after about a half hour Cooper (smart as a whip) figures out who was boss. She clearly had the command and respect from him. She quietly reviewed the history of the puppy with us as well as reviewed some videos of how the dog behaves at home. After our session she instructed us what to do (gave us homework) on how to deal with Cooper. Even after the first few days of the new “rules” Cooper tested us but sticking to the homework Cooper caught on fast. In less than two weeks we have had only a few times in the beginning when the dog tested us. But Elise told us “0” tolerance and we followed Elise rules. I can’t even believe how dramatic the change was! It was really not the dog that had to be trained but we had to be trained to handle the dog. We had dogs before and had never come across a dog like this one. She figured out his type of personaliry so quick! Our little boy is smart and it was like a miracle. We still have work to do but our top priority was the aggressive behavior he exhibited. That part is clearly better- actually eliminated at this point——BUT…. We will continue to keep up with what we learned! I can’t wait to return to correct some basic training issues (counter surfing, retrieving, etc) but those are secondary issues. I also am excited to have Cooper socialized with play time and classes too. We asked Elise if we should keep him when we first brought him and she said she thought somewhere in there was a good dog too. Trust me, we had our doubts. But I am thrilled she found that good little pup!!! I was afraid also that at his age it may be too late to correct such bad behavior. But I can’t tell you how happy I am so far on the results, and we had tried multiple trainers prior. I would without any hesitation recommend Elise to anyone who needs assistance with their dog- or feels they are at wits ends. She is truly a miracle worker with animals!!!

Elise helped us understand ours black lab Scarlett and taught us how to train her to live harmoniously with our cats and other dogs. I was going through photos of my sweet Beza, my miniature Dachshund and found this Easter photo of her. It reminds me of the amazing times she spent at PBC in her youth. Everyone from her primary trainer, Kaylyn to daycare staff along with the watchful eyes of Elise, Sam and Conner held the highest standard of care to my Beza. It may seem like a small thing but I remember Kaylyn working with Beza on a calming hold (is that what it's called?) I watched her lift Beza while supporting her whole body while she lifted her into her lap. It's the details and knowledgeable warm care that makes the difference. Dachshunds are prone to spinal challenges so this one thing stood out for sure. I'm ever grateful to the PBC family for loving my Beza while in your care! You guys....don't change. Cheers
