Pet Project Dog Training

Keira is an amazing trainer! I was probably one of Keira’s first clients. I had just lost my service/therapy dog, and I wanted a new dog to support my child with autism and developmental disabilities. Keira was SUPER patient with me and helped me identify a breeder and most importantly, taught me and empowered me to know and understand my dog- temperament traits that are important, body language, etc. From there she has done amazing at teaching me how to work most effectively how to train our dog. Thanks to her I’ve learned that dog training is much more than just teaching your dog to do a specific command. It’s leaning to communicate no -verbally, reading the dog cues and being the most effective at telling the dog what you want him to do. She is patient with her client and gentle with the dogs. She is amazing at working through behavioral and other challenges the dog may have and support you for success. I highly recommend her and would trust her with any dog!

Keira has been volunteering as a trainer at our non-profit canid education and conservation organization (JABCECC). She has been working with some of our Russian domesticated red foxes on some obedience, trick behaviors, and enrichment training with the foxes. She is doing an amazing job, especially given she is working with foxes and not dogs. She is quick to alter and adjust training methods to meet the unique needs of not only a different species, but didn't personalities with each animal she works with. We are honored to have her a part of our training team!

Kiera has been absolutely amazing to work with! As a reactive dog owner herself, she's able to give me options based on her own experiences while empathizing with how challenging it can be. She's helped us with cooperative care and reactivity and is very knowledgeable in behavior sciences. It's so hard to find a dog trainer that specializes in reactivity and uses positive reinforcement. So thankful to have found her!
