Petco Dog Training

I’m a long-time cat owner and now a first time dog owner who inherited a three year old Cavapoo. I quickly learned that cats and dogs are so very different. My sweet new dog has a very strong prey drive (lives to chase squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, deer… and cats), was somewhat reactive to other dogs, could not tolerate being left alone and was not leash trained. The first couple of months he was restrained on a leash in the house all the time, to protect the cats. No one was happy. Julie taught us how to become strong confident leaders, and how to support our dog’s growth and development in multiple critical areas, so central to dog’s, cats’ and humans’ quality of life. She helped the dog become a more confident, healthy companion for all of us; people and cats. Over the course of a few months the dog and the whole family underwent an amazing transformation. Now he’s calm, confident, non-reactive, and is able to be left alone in the house when necessary. Perhaps most importantly for all of our adjustment, he lives comfortably with the cats, going from seeing them as prey to seeing them as friends and potential playmates (although they’re still working on that). Hiring Julie to help us was the best decision ever. Julie’s training has changed our whole families’ lives, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
