To all customers: If you value respect and fair treatment, consider alternative pet stores. PetSmart seems to be losing sight of customer satisfaction. That's because their role as sales representatives is to: - Provide information and answer questions - Offer guidance and expertise - Help customers make informed decisions Just like when buying a washer, they should instruct and inform us, not dismiss and discriminate. It's their job to assist, not to judge our ability to care for a pet. Remember, you deserve respect and helpful service when making a purchase! We visited PetSmart with the intention of purchasing a new bird and seeking advice on bird care. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the condescending and humiliating behavior of one of the employees. When we asked about vitamins for our birds, he responded in a way that implied we were ignorant about bird care. What's worse, when we returned to purchase the bird we wanted, he refused to sell it to us, citing that we didn't know how to care for our existing birds. This was despite us having previous experience with birds and simply seeking clarification on unclear product labeling. His behavior was unprofessional. He applied a policy on denying a sale unreasonably, targeting us for a single question. We felt disrespected, humiliated, and targeted due to our language barrier and ethnicity. We hope PetSmart takes steps to address this employee's behavior, provides better training on inclusive customer service, and ensures that all customers receive respectful treatment.
