PetSmart Dog Training

The Groomers is the worst place I’ve been to. We brought our older Maltese mix in for a bath and grooming. She is a very sweet dog and has had bad teeth and a heart murmur for the past four years. The groomer refused to groom her and took her next door to the vet to be checked out because of the heart murmur — even though she has had the same condition during previous visits when they bathed and groomed her, including the last time they cut her leg open and sent her to the emergency vet. If you want a caring and reliable groomer, Seven Oaks Pet Hospital is the place to go.

I was supposed to start puppy training last Saturday, 4/19 with someone named Jacob. I got called that morning to say he was out sick and would “call us back Sunday to reschedule our 1st session.” No call Sunday, called today Monday morning and the trainer wasn’t in until 2pm. He did end up calling to say the our class will just “restart” this Saturday. But, what made me kind annoyed was that he went into over explaining how these next couple of months of training will be “sporadic” because these are his vacation months. Not sure why they would schedule a 6 week consistent class when the trainer has planned vacations. I actually paid for 18 weeks and when I asked about how that would work he wasn’t very clear. Now, yall already have your money. I actually paid for 18 weeks of classes and it says no where on the website that the weeks are not consistent and it's up to the trainers schedule. Overall leaves me with a bad unprofessional taste in my mouth. Feels like terrible planning on the stores part. I will be there for the first class this Saturday and update my experience. But so far not okay with this. Hopefully they will make it right. The call from the trainer, didn't work.

The trainer was attentive to showing the class how to train your dog & the owner. She used the dogs in the group to give examples. She discussed examples of "busy toys" while the dog is in the crate or bored in the house. But PetSmart had NO toys that met the "busy toy" requirements. The store did not have a lot of items the trainer suggested. I also felt the class needed 2 additional sessions for training to assist the challenging dogs or owners that were having difficulties with their dog. The classes were good, but they could use some important. I did not continue to classes 2 & 3. I went to another trainer.
