PetSmart Dog Training

I just want to share my very unpleasant, painful and very scary experience during one of the beginners training classes. .There were about five dogs there, including my sixth month puppy. My puppy is a small breed. Among these dogs there were two the same breeds big aggressive dogs from the same owner. One of the them got so close to my puppy, trying to jump on my puppy and bite him. The owner of this dog did nothing, Good that we could hold the leash of our puppy and avoid the injury. When i told the instructor that it should not have happened, she said but puppy did not get hurt, but i said that it could have been. I was surprised with her answer, instead, she should have told the owner to keep his dog on a short leash and stay far from small dogs. These lessons are just a waste of time and money, for instead of teaching some important things, this woman was just stuffing the puppies with treats all the time. She showed how to feed puppy some trick by stepping on a treat with her dirty shoe and let the puppy after that eat from the dirty floor. We are not coming back. After the lesson puppy acted very strange, like never before, he did not want to walk out of Pet smart, he just sit on the floor and did not move, we needed to pull him by pulling the leash and slide him. But when we got home the same was at home, he acted very strange, he was very scared after the contact with the aggressive big dog. The first thing right at the beginning the instructor should have taught owners how to socialize their pets and keep them far away from other dogs if they are not well trained. These beginners lessons did nothing good for us, or or puppy ,

Flynn our doggie just got it's beginner certificate after 6 weeks of hard work and lots of treats. Lori is an excellent trainer, Flynn made good improvements on walking, sitting, drop,leave, and other commands. We've decided to go all the way, including therapy dog. Now for him is the second step- intermediate class and he'll start it next week. We enjoy the classes too. Thank you, Lori and Petsmart!
