Platinum Dog Training

Success! We contacted Michael to help us with our 3 year old and 5 month old Golden Retrievers. Our 3 year old was a covid puppy and had very high anxiety and a reactivity to other dogs. I was scared to go on a walk for fear of what we would encounter and walks were not enjoyable. We had tried other in person private training that was not successful. We saw results the first week with Michael and by our 6th class we were walking in heel position all through Fleet Farm ( first time ever in a store) passing other dogs and all distractions with no issues. We now have endless possibilities of things we can enjoy with him. This has opened up a whole new world for our boy. Our 5 month old needed a good foundation of basic skills and leash skills that we can carry on throughout his life. Michael was good at adapting to each dog’s personality and learning abilities. He is exceptional at training the trainer. Teaches you how a dog understands and how we can become better at our communication. Each class has information you can incorporate on a daily basis and if you have questions during the training process he is great at responding in a timely manner. We have had dogs for 20 years - and other trainers and training methods and Michael is by far the best. We are excited to see our dogs continue to grow with the foundation he gave us!

Last Friday was our last session and I just want to say how much I appreciate the training Riley has received. Michael is not only great to work with, he makes sure to explain what he is doing and why. He also made sure that I knew what to do. Riley was very hyper, jumping on everyone who got near. He only listened when he wanted. Michael has turned him around. After 8 sessions, I am now comfortable taking him around others and he listens well in the house and outside. He heels off leash and always comes when I call him. I am so happy with how well he does now! Michael ended up training both of us! Highly recommend Platinum Dog Training!

Hi, Reuben the King Charles Cavalier Spaniel here. I want to tell you about my new friend Michael from Platinum Dog Training. Mom and Dad hired him to come play with me every Monday night for a whole month! Michael was awesome! He was so nice and friendly. You can tell he is a “dog person”. He taught me to sit, come, heel, place, and down on command and consistently in just a few sessions. I showed everyone how smart I am and did all my commands…well most of the time! I didn’t always want to do what Michael said, but he kept saying the same thing until I did it so I learned right away that it is just more fun for me to do it the first time he asks. Michael taught my mom and dad too! They were not so great at it, giving me commands too late or not in the right order, but they eventually learned. I tried to take advantage of their love for me and not follow their commands as good as I listened to Michael, but that didn’t work! Michael taught them what to do when I don’t listen and not to let me manipulate them so much. Now my parents are much more consistent. I have decided it’s more fun to just listen to them and do what they say. They tell me I’m a good dog every time so it’s worth it! They seem much happier with me now that I listen to them. My parents and I still practice every day and I have to say they are getting the hang of it! I still test them once in a while but they don’t fall for it anymore! I continue to be interested in squirrels and rabbits I see on our walks, but I don’t lunge or run at them anymore. I know I could catch one, but I won’t try to - just knowing I could is satisfying enough. I used to bark a lot too, but now I am just not that interested in barking! If I do see a sweet girl puppy sometimes I forget and bark at her (can you blame me?), but Michael taught mom and dad what to do in these situations. When they remind me I immediately stop barking! Mom and dad seem to be very excited about the no barking thing…. I don’t get it but if it makes them happy that’s great. I just wanted to thank Michael for teaching me and my parents. We all learned so much and were surprised at the immediate results that we saw! I highly recommend his program to all my canine friends that want to make their owners proud.

Our whole family had the pleasure to work with Michael at platinum dog training. We have had dogs over the years and attended various training classes with various degrees of success. Oz is our first puppy and this was our first experience having a trainer come to our home. Yes, it is more expensive. Yes, you will be the one trained (Oz was just waiting for us to get on board). Yes, you will have homework. And yes, you will have to work with your dog every day. And yes, it was the best decision ever. We were shown how to understand and support Oz. We now know handling techniques and why they matter. It’s very much like learning how to speak 🐶! 5 stars all around! (Before and after shots 😜)
