Port Chester Obedience Training Club - Westchester County Group Dog Training Classes

We never needed to use PCOTC for basic obedience but we’ve taken tons of classes here for scent work and a few classes for rally obedience and agility for my older dog. This club has been such a supportive community. My dog is older and he’s also my first sport dog. Thanks in part to PCOTC, he’s earned 14 titles (and counting) in two years. The instructors are passionate and knowledgeable, each with their own training style. It’s really about finding the right fit for you and your dog. I won’t subtract a star but I will say extra traction on the stairs leading to the top floor would be so appreciated by any large dog owner. My overexcited dog loves slingshotting me up and down before class! Otherwise, I can’t say enough good things about this club. A great place to learn, grow, and connect with fellow dog people.

I had a horrible experience here. I brought my corgi for a small group class. My dog got along fine with other dogs before this. She was placed next to a dog that was very reactive and kept trying to get into her space. Because my dog was so overwhelmed I couldn't get my dog to pay attention to me let alone try to teach her anything. All she wanted to do was hide. The instructor told us to go to the back of the room and just wait there. Each time we came to class, my dog was so afraid that she was shaking. And each time, we were just told to sit at the back of the room and watch the rest of the group. My dog has now gotten worse around other dogs, this traumatized her.
