Where is the training done?
I come to your home for the original consultation and all follow-up training sessions. If I am working with a dog who is reactive to other dogs while on walks, we will sometimes have a training session or two at a local park, trail, or in the owner's neighborhood, so that the training methods that have been learned and practiced previously, can be used in "real-life" situations with my guidance.

Can a senior dog still learn new behaviors?
Yes! Our senior dogs are quite capable of learning new behaviors. The key is to find what is most motivating to your dog and use that as a reward/reinforcer for a behavior you requested. Most dogs are motivated by food such as cheese and cooked chicken. But tossing a ball, a quick tug on the rope, or your verbal praise can be very motivating for some dogs too. So go now, and teach your senior pup some new tricks!

Colleen has helped our adult /senior dog,Jazzie by teaching us tips and tricks to train her ( and us) . She is leash reactive ,especially if she sees other dogs. Working with Colleen was easy and fun, She is very knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviors. We learned to recognize the dog signals that indicate Jazz is at her threshold and how to remove us/her from the situation. After several sessions Jazzie was able to demonstrate several commands and could stay calm when putting her harness and leash on to get ready to walk. She walks much better on the leash now. We highly recommend Positive Interactions Dog Behavior and Training, and Colleen and hope to work with her again to keep fresh and reinforce Jazzie's training,

Barney had all kinds of challenges when we first got him, such as housebreaking, fear of. cars, and challenges with walking on leash. Colleen was very thoughtful with her training delivery. There were many tools Colleen taught us to better manage Barney's behavior. I appreciated the write ups after our sessions as they provided a nice recap of was taught. Friendly and willing to address any questions we had, Colleen was very easy to work with and valued what we wanted to work on with Barney. Colleen uses positive reinforcement and reward-based training. We appreciated Colleens expertise and we intend on using her again.
We had an amazing experience with Colleen in training our puppy using positive reinforcement and reward-based training.
