Positive Pets Dog Training

First off, if there were more stars to give for our trainer Karly, and the rest of the staff, I would do it. We knew our pup Bogey could be a great dog, but we needed the knowledge, resources, and tools to make that happen. We opted for the day training & private lessons, which also offer some additional drop in classes, and a specialized course after graduation. What a world of difference it has made so far, and we are not done yet. You can tell they have an unrivaled compassion for dogs, and that swayed me over other options. To people on the fence, you don’t know what you don’t know, and they will not only train your pup, but you as well. Amazing how experience.

My wife and I are so thankful we found Positive Pets Dog Training in Meridian/Boise ID! Due to our schedules we decided to have weekly private training sessions at our home for the past two months (we started with one month and then extended because we had such great progress for the puppy and US) and it has been an overall OUTSTANDING experience!! From my initial call to the office their team helped me navigate our options and were extremely helpful with ALL of my questions. Once training kicked-off with Tas who I feel like went above and beyond with training us humans on how to communicate and understand our puppy while providing hands-on expert training by showing us exactly what do and how to do it. Tas even brought one of her dogs to help our puppy train with new situations and experiences. As we are winding down our private lessons at home I am excited about all of the other training opportunities for group classes as our puppy grows and evolves especially the off-leash trail training when he gets a bit older. My 9 month old border collie mix pup and I had an amazing experience training at this location. I initially went to one of their consultations to get a layout of the type of training, class options, as well as cost. I'm not going to lie, classes are a bit pricey but 100% worth the investment. Due to my pup's overexcitability with other dogs and people, I settled on some private lessons and used a free coupon I received at my consultation for a month long of free group classes that focused on distractions. We haven't gone to the group classes yet but those are definitely in the future. For our private lessons, we were paired with Riley. She was amazing! My pup fell in love with her and we quickly made progress. Within the first lesson she was sitting in place for minutes with all her focus on me, something I hadn't ever been able to achieve. After our second lesson, our hike in the foothills didn't result in any major "freak-outs" around other dogs and I wasn't dragged up the hill every time. For her final skills and graduation, she was able to do every command we had learned for a good amount of time all while Riley's dog was doing tricks around the room, something that prior to lessons would have results in barking, tugging, and a whole set of not-so-good behaviors. The focus of the classes are not necessarily to train your dog for you, but to give you a set of commands, exercises, and ways to practice with your dog so that you can do the work. They really emphasize the phrase "you get out of it what you put into it," so you have to diligently practice everyday in order to see the real improvement. 100% recommend to anyone looking to get a better behaved dog with a much stronger bond.
