Precision Dog Training Academy

I was so frustrated with my 6 month old puppy, Daisy 🌼 May. She kept biting our feet when we walked, ate our shoes, wouldn’t drop items she wasn’t supposed to have and ran away from us when called. I had hired a dog trainer to come to the house an hour a week but she only listened to him because he had treats! I was at the end of my rope until I found PDTA. The entire staff was amazing and worked together to transform the behavior of my puppy. She’s not perfect but she is a world of difference since she has been home from her 2 week boarding boot camp. After her boot camp Emily took a few hours to train me and my family to be able to continue working with her at home. This really set our whole family up for success. I would recommend PDTA to any family whether their dog is a puppy or a senior to train here!

I was at my wit’s end with my new little shelter pup, and thank goodness I found Precision Dog Training Academy. I live in the city with no fenced yard and worked closely with a shelter to find the right fit. That’s when I found Ollie. The shelter thought we’d be a perfect match, but there were things they had not shared and what I learned after bringing Ollie home was that he was deeply afraid and reactive to traffic. Walks quickly turned into stressful standoffs, cowering, then lunging at cars. Outings felt impossible, but Ollie still needed exercise and exposure to the world around him. I tried a couple of trainers, but nothing really stuck. Then I met a dog owner at a local park who told me about Precision and how well his dog handled city life after training there. That conversation changed everything. From my very first inquiry, the experience felt different. The team took the time to understand what Ollie and I were struggling with and gave me a clear path forward. Their approach is structured, intentional, and built around both the dog and the owner. I chose the three week board and train, which was not an easy decision, but their communication made all the difference. I received consistent updates, videos, and real insight into what they were working on, from foundational commands to addressing reactivity and building confidence in high stimulus environments. Watching Ollie's progress was incredible. You could see the trust being built, not just in the training, but in the relationship. He started to feel safe, and so many tail wags! We did hit a few bumps when he came home, which can happen, but what stood out most was how committed Precision was to Ollie's success. They brought Ollie back in, no hesitation and at no additional cost, and continued working through the challenges with us. That level of accountability and care is rare. Now Ollie walks the neighborhood and beyond with me. He is calmer, more confident, and learning to make better choices every day. What once felt overwhelming for both of us is now something we genuinely enjoy together. I am especially grateful for Ethan, Emily, and Keaton. Keaton in particular took the time to answer every question, explain the “why” behind the training, and help me become a more confident dog owner. That guidance has been just as important as the training itself. If you are struggling with your pup, trust their process. They know what they are doing, and they stand behind their work. Bonus: Ollie loves going to Precision and seeing his trainers!

Highly recommend for reactive dogs! We recently adopted Honeybee from a shelter, and while we loved her immediately, her reactivity toward other dogs and new people was a major challenge. From our very first interaction, Ethan was incredibly helpful. He took the time to explain their different programs and helped us land on the Behavior Modification Private Training Program, which was exactly what we needed. Our trainer, Keaton, was fantastic. He didn’t just train Honeybee, he helped us understand the "why" behind her behaviors. Throughout the sessions, he guided us on how to manage and improve her reactivity, and she is doing significantly better today than when we started. The biggest takeaway for us was the realization that training isn't a "quick fix." Keaton emphasized that you can't expect a dog to change just by showing up to session. It takes consistent effort from the owners. It’s a lifelong process, and we feel much better equipped to continue that journey now. Huge thanks to Ethan, Keaton, and the whole Precision team!
