My passion for training dogs began long before I could pursue a career in it. I started training and showing Rottweilers for confirmation in Junior AKC Rings when I was 12. I continued to compete in this arena until I began to prepare for a career with the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP). When I joined the ranks of PSP in 1999, I did so knowing that I would be pursuing a position in their K-9 Unit. We offer the following trainings:

I had two dogs show up at our house.. 3 weeks later, still with us. 5 month old puppies with no manors.. so what best place to take them is ProActive Dog Training LLC.. after one session, the pups are better on leash, not barking at everything and more.. I even learned a few pointers to take home with me to continue training them to be good adoption candidates! Can’t thank Dave enough! I don’t feel as frustrated anymore with them!

Mr Lock was a tremendous help in getting our puppy squared away. Not only did our dog greatly benefit from his training, we as owners are also now better equipped to handle a dog with no shortage of drive and energy. I would highly recommend Proactive Dog Training to my family and friends.

We went to Proactive Dog Training LLC when 2 of our 5 dogs became aggressive with one another. We tried other trainers and behavior specialists with no success. I felt like a prisoner in my own home because they were fighting anytime I walked in the room. We had to keep them separated and I always had to make sure one was kenneled before I walked in the room. We found Dave and started with a 6 week program geared more toward the aggressor and then we finished with a 5 day day train with the less confident dog. I am now able to be around all my dogs together. It’s also a bonus both dogs have leash obedience! I can’t thank Dave enough! Highly recommend! Worth every penny and the time!

Our program Dave suggested was 1 on 1 and a 15 day training with our great dane, Elvis. Dave is very professional trainer, he treated Elvis like one of his own family. It was amazing watching the progress videos and he took the time to explain every step of the program. Would highly recommend.
