As a certified behavior consultant, I specialize in solving the more difficult and complex issues such as fear, aggression, reactivity, and anxiety by using modern reward based methods. I identify the cause of the behavior problem, develop an intervention plan to change the problem behavior, and to help you learn how to execute that plan. My goal is to give you a better understanding of how dogs learn and communicate so that you can teach them what is expected of them. Once you understand the principles of how dogs learn you will have tools and techniques to live the best possible life with your dog.

Where do I start? I called Melita in a panic when I discovered my rescue dog was aggressively reacting to visitors in the home, Melita came to my house THAT DAY to help. Since then she has continued to go above and beyond in helping us, from bringing her own dog over to dog test our dog, to answering questions and concerns that I have between sessions, she's been a huge support for us and very generous with her time and knowledge... I'd recommend her to anyone looking for help with their dog. A lot of dog trainers talk and talk without really listening to the client, Melita actually listens, takes her time assessing, and then provides her honest feedback and recommendations. I can highly recommend Melita Wright of Promising Pups. We had never owned a dog before and were very nervous to bring home our new puppy. Melita was there from the beginning to teach our family how to handle a puppy and train it with love and kindness.
