Pup'n Iron Canine Enrichment Center

We love Pup N Iron! Laurie has trained 3 of my dogs and I have never been disappointed with the outcome. All my dogs have competed in rally and other dog sports as a result of the rock solid foundation we received from Laurie and her team. She hires top notch trainers who promote the positive reinforcement ideology that Laurie and Pup N Iron have stood behind for years. Kevin is another trainer at Pup N Iron that I tip my hat to as well. The variety of great trainers really gives you and your pup an opportunity to receive several different training techniques under one roof. I also love the facility as it’s clean and there is plenty of room to work your dog.

We live 4 hours away from Pup’n Iron, we came back to WV yesterday. Yes, we traveled the 4 hours and stayed in a hotel. Just so we could train with Laurie at PNI. We have a 13 week old English Mastiff of course she was doing great in the classes that we attended. Laurie gave us lots of training tips, Laurie is the very best in my opinion. We trained two other English Mastiff's with her and they passed the CGC with no problems. Both mastiffs did rally o with one taking first place in competition. I would recommend PNI to anyone that wants to have their dog trained using positive reinforcement, which gives you a dog that is true companion. Laurie Williams is the best!

We had gone to PNI with our previous 2 mastiffs and they and we learned so much. We have since moved from the NOVA area to southern WV. We got a new English mastiff puppy and had been so pleased with the training we received previously that we contacted Laurie Williams and asked if we could join for a week. She was so helpful in assessing our training and puppy and giving us the encouragement and training we needed. We traveled 4 hours and stayed in a nearby hotel just to do some dog training. I cannot say enough positive accolades about PNI and Laurie Williams the owner. Also, Kevin was a great instructor.

Overall, my puppy and I benefited greatly from Pup'n Iron TRAINERS, which is why I gave 3 stars. The 2 different gentlemen who instructed the puppy class were absolutely fantastic. Their knowledge of dog behavior was obvious, and they were so friendly. Rather than just learning some silly party tricks, my dog and I really learned how to communicate with one another. Unfortunately, the owner (Laurie) was not as friendly as her staff. Every question I asked, every concern I brought up, was met with extreme passive aggressiveness and hostility. For example, there was a day on which the facility had closed due to snow, unbeknownst to me. I had checked the Instagram page, as I was instructed to do in the 16 minute orientation video, and hadn't seen any closure announcements, so assumed they were open for business as usual (I had been to work that day, and the roads were fine). When my husband arrived to an empty building, I sent an email to Laurie asking where I should check for closure information going forward and if I could be added to an email list. The response I got essentially berated me for not memorizing the orientation video, included a copy of the orientation email "in case you lost the first one", stated in all caps that I should've checked FACEBOOK (even though the orientation video that I DID watch, stated closures would be posted to Instagram), and told me that I should've checked ALL sources before venturing out (rather than just admitting that she had forgotten to update one of the mediums of communication that she told customers to use). Maybe I misread the tone of the correspondence, but I felt like a child being scolded rather than a paying customer who had raised a valid concern. The positive experience I had with the training team was sadly overshadowed by the distasteful experience I had with the owner, and for that reason, we finished out our puppy level course, but will not be returning for the next level of classes.
