Puppy Steps Training

Puppy Steps Training changed my life. I recommend this place to everyone that asks me about my dog. I brought my own puppy to Puppy Steps for Training. Most dogs I saw went through the program were golden doodles, labs, and golden retrievers. I was bringing a German Shepard and was a little nervous because of the breed differences. Let me tell ya, My Maverick was treated with so much love and his training was unparalleled. I was sent weekly picture and video updates of his progress. This training was worth every penny and I plan on sending all my future dogs through the training. PST laid an amazing foundation to which I was able to easily maintain and build upon. My dog comes to work with my every day, and I am consistently told how impressed others are by his manners. I want to be clear, this is not a one-stop-shop. You still have to regularly work with your dog and maintain the foundation that was built. You still have to be ready to bring a puppy into your home and that requires a large lifestyle adjustment so be ready for that before bringing a dog into your home. PST has a list of commands and tasks that must be mastered before your puppy is allowed to come home. This is awesome because if your puppy hasn’t quite mastered the tasks, PST keeps working with them before sending them home. It’s not like petsmart or other training programs that draw a hard line and give your dog back either they are ready or not. I’m forever grateful for PST. If you’re wondering about it- DO IT. Make the call. You will not regret it!

We got our goldendoodle from Puppy Steps in February. She was our second dog, we have another goldendoodle already. We had problems with her from the beginning. She was having lots of poop and pee accidents all over our house despite all of her "training." She has destroyed so many things in our home. She's always pulled on the leash when we walked her, from day one, even though she was "leash trained." She has been very aggressive with people she doesn't know. She was "socialized' by Puppy Steps Training but has always been very fearful of people and this has caused our family so much stress. She continues to bite people and it's heartbreaking. We paid for this training because we thought it would make the challenging puppy part of having a puppy easier, but it has been a nightmare. Save your money, don't make the same mistake we did, and get a dog from somewhere else. We have had to continue to pay for other training for her and she is still having problems. I think we trusted the other good reviews and shouldn't have. Such a disappointment.
