Over the years, I have worked with 6 trainers for various dogs - 3 of those were for Moose. Purposeful Canines is by far the best! The BEST! Rob is an excellent teacher. He clearly breaks down communication and behavior concepts. He patiently coaches you through all the physical coordination - marking, correcting, timing, tone. Our pup, now a little over a year- 120 lb was A LOT to handle. He was startled by everything. Before this training, walking him was stressful. He was so out of control, I was always trying to avoid people, kids, other dogs. The vets couldn’t get him on a scale for months. Our first lesson, he barked at every random thing and peed everywhere. Our Purposeful Canines trainer was so patient. Within a half hour, he had Moose confidently moving on and off a cot, place, sit, and down. We did a combination of board ’n train and private sessions. Moose was transformed - he is engaged on walks, heeling, nailing recall. He is now working on advanced off-leash obedience. Amazing! He has such a great bond with his trainer. I am much more confident with him. We were out walking on a busy night, and several times groups of people stopped to fuss over him. He sat, so well, He heeled with me the whole time. A car driving by even rolled down their window just to say - “he’s such a good dog!” I was beside myself. A group of neighbors stopped to pet him. They said, “Remember when he was half this size pulling you all over town? Look at him! He is so big, and he is so good! You are so good with him. You are such a good trainer.” I laughed, “Actually, no. I am not a good trainer. I HIRED a good trainer, and I just keep practicing everything he shows me.
