Rattlesnake Ready

Came in to originally do general admission tickets ended up doing a private tour with friends which is $250 and well worth it us five had a great time got up close and personal with several reptiles and very clean setups and environment, Logan was well informed on the snakes and gave us a lot of information learned a lot , and the snakes they have are sooooo cuuuute if you ever wondered if you should come or not because you weren’t exactly sure where it was or you thought the Google Maps looked odd well definitely come. It is a residential area but parking is very easy. They have about four parking spots but if you have more people, they really don’t care where you park, which was really nice of them and the place that they have all the animals is super nice It’s only one room if you want to do general admission to look at the snakes so might take you like 10-30 minutes to look around but I would definitely recommend doing the private tour. I think it’s really worth the money and you get a lot out of it for two hours.

In 2024, I hired a less experienced rattlesnake aversion trainer and it ended with my dog walking right over top the snake every time to get away from the trainer, who my dog associated as the one delivering the "shock" and didn't see the snake as a threat at all. I was worried that the experience might have ruined my dog's chances of successfully learning to avoid rattlesnakes. In 2025, I took my dog to Cody at Rattlesnake Ready, and his precision with the timing of the corrections was amazing. My dog never suspeceted Cody was involved. My dog understood immediately that the snake was bad, but Cody took the time to make sure it stuck with several repetitions with the snake in different locations, contexts, and even used a rattlesnake shed and a rattle sound on a speaker hidden in a bush. The fenced area he created for training is a very realistic simulation of where a dog might run into a rattlesnake in real life. Two weeks after the training, I happened upon a dead rattlesnake in the road that was sadly hit by a car. I took the opportunity to bring my dog over to test him. He got a whiff of it from a distance and did a huge circle around it as wide as possible to avoid it. We had two other encounters that year, and he always ran away immediately upon realizing it was there. Tonight on a walk, over one year after the training, my dog suddenly ran to the right, jerking the leash, which is very out of character. I looked down to my left and saw a rattlesnake 6 inches from my foot. Before tonight, I was considering bringing my dog back to Cody for a refresher, but now it is clear he doesn't need it. The peace of mind Rattlesnake Ready has given me is priceless. Cody understands dogs extremely well, and his many years of experience shows. Don't risk taking your dog to anyone else for rattlesnake aversion!
