Really Special Animals

We recently adopted a rescue dog who came to us with some psychological baggage. He has been attending RSA and the staff have been absolutely wonderful. They have taken the time to get to know him and are working with him to develop the skills he needs to grow into a confident, happy, and well-behaved dog. Barbara Jean is truly a "dog whisperer". She is helping us with some more challenging issues (barking and nerves) - after only one private training session we have had amazing results implementing her suggestions. We are so thankful to have found RSA. Highly recommend!!!

Barbara Jean and her team are absolutely amazing! Not only do they take great care of Clark at day school, but our private training sessions with Barbara Jean have transformed our relationship with our dog. Before we started training we were struggling with Clark’s biting, herding, and generally anxious behavior. What started out as puppy play had evolved into more serious behavior that we weren’t able to solve with other trainers. Play time quickly turned into biting and nipping, and having guests over was nearly impossible. Now we have a relaxed and happy dog, with no biting! We’ve seen him become the sweet dog we always knew he couple be, because of the structure and boundaries we’ve learned in private training sessions. Barbara Jean takes the time to understand each dog and family to find solutions quickly and effectively. She a dog whisperer, therapist, teacher, and support system all in one. Really Special Animals has given us the confidence and knowledge to help Clark succeed.

My high prey-drive dog was constantly running away to follow scents, not obeying commands, and tangoing (and losing) with porcupines. Through working with Barbara Jean I am now able to run and walk with my dog off leash and have been able to easily stop her from: following a bear, chasing 3 deer, and even got her to sit and stay while a porcupine walked less than 3 feet away from her! Adding in all of the other amazing improvements we've seen highlights how invaluable Barbara Jean and Really Special Animals training is!
