Red Star Kennel

We loved our puppy, but in all honesty we didn't always like her. Lot's of behavioral issues that only became more difficult to control as she grew. And grew. And grew... We needed help. There aren't enough accolades I can give the Red Star Kennel team for the amazing job they've done with our girl. Kiki is now a well behaved 11 month old who seems very happy understanding that there are rules and even seems (mostly) happy to follow them. The transformation has been like night and day. I really believe that Red Star Kennel training is one of the best investments you can make in your pet. Five stars all day long. Thank you, Red Star Kennel team!

Puppy bootcamp experience: Amazing trainers and staff, fantastic customer experience, and shockingly well behaved puppy. A few months ago we took home a golden retriever pup. Unsurprisingly, he was a ton of work. He was also more aggressive and stubborn than we expected a golden retriever to be. Pair that with a 3 year old daughter who loves to wrestle, run, dance while wearing long princess dresses, and play with small/chewable toys and we found ourselves spending most of our evenings separating the two or on high alert for chewing or nipping. All blankets and pillows had to be put out of reach. My daughter was often frustrated and asked why should couldn’t play in our living room where we keep his kennel. After a few puppy-tooth punctures in her favorite toys or dresses, her relationship with the pup turned a bit love/hate. After some encouragement from other friends with dogs we started searching for a puppy boot camp and have been thrilled with our choice of Red Star Kennel. Three weeks later and our pup was/is extremely well behaved. He is amazing on a leash. His obedience basics are fantastic. “Go to your place” has been amazing for keeping our floors dry while the yard is covered in snow. There is no jumping on people or furniture. His social skills with other dogs are great. We can wash dishes without him attempting to climb into the dishwasher. I can tell him to “stay” and leave the room, grab a soda from the garage, etc. and he will be sitting where I left him when I get back. Mark is a miracle worker. Most importantly, Mark and Irina did an amazing job teaching my wife and I how to raise a well behaved, balanced dog. They answered every question we had and went above and beyond to help settle our pup’s stomach (which has been an issue since we first got him). In fact, Irina spent about 30 minutes with me over the phone before I was even a customer, after our pup had bit my nephew in a less than playful manor. She helped me understand the situation, aspects of the pup’s personality, and how we could adjust our training and his space. I highly recommend Red Star Kennel.

Red Star Kennel is the Nordstroms of dog training! We did a few private lessons and the boot camp and our misbehaving 9 month old dog went from eating everything in sight (socks, dead animals, litter) and getting sick a lot, playing too rough with our children, biting, jumping and being reactive on the leash to having manners, understanding and following 'no' and being safer for his own sake, our families and neighbors and being a joy to be around. As a busy responsible pet owners, we wanted fast, easy solutions that worked and we got them. Mark underpromised and overdelivered! Our stress from having a misbehaving dog is gone, we are all, including our dog, so much happier, and safer.
