Ridgeside K9 Central Florida

Our puppy went for a 2 week training while we were on vacay. He’s a small puppy so he was really lacking in confidence and afraid of many things, including most dogs and new situations. The last thing we want in our new family member is reactivity and the issues that come with fear, so we knew we needed someone to guide us. Upon pick-up, we could already see he was not the timid puppy we dropped off. He was so confident with every dog we saw him encounter. He didn’t hesitate with a large German shepherd who was 10 sizes bigger (maybe more), who he was so excited to see and ready to play with. He walks nicely on a leash and now he has a valuable foundation that we can build on. We will be bringing him back for more training in the future. Our huge thanks to Taylor who was assigned to him. She gave him so much love, taught him so much and trained him how to be confident which has made him happier. I would recommend Ridgeside to anyone with a puppy for a foundation, or for any age of dog who needs to work through issues, manners or behavior. Looking forward to his next visit! I adopted Honey from an adoption agency who had her placed at another boarding facility a month before I got her. After just a few short weeks of having her, it was apparent the previous boarding facility did not help Honey to the extent that she needed as I was lead to believe, as she was very fear reactive to anyone or anything besides me and my Fiance and would try and lunge at anything that came near her or that was in her eyesight. I live in an apartment complex so taking her on walks and just having people walk by my apartment was such a stressful experience for both me and Honey. Due to Honey's reactivity and the fact I live in a busy apartment complex with children who are always outside playing, I had to consider giving her up which was breaking my heart as Honey is such a sweet and loving girl to her people who was just scared and only knew to react instead of trusting me and my Fiance to protect her. Taking Honey to Ridgeside K9 was my last hope to get Honey in a better headspace and the outcome was more than I could have hoped for. Honey trained with Casey for a whole month under their aggression program and Casey would frequently send photos and videos of Honey's progress and explained what training was occurring. She would also answer any questions I had. When picking Honey up we spent about 3 hours going over everything that she and Honey had trained and had me and my Fiance run training drills with Honey to make sure we understood how to properly help Honey ourselves in real life situations whenever Honey became stressed and overwhelmed. Casey never rushed us and encouraged us to stay as long we needed to ensure we felt confident taking Honey home. I have had Honey home for almost a week and walks are fun now! With the training and tools the team at Ridgeside K9 has provided I am no longer stressed like I once was when taking Honey for walks. I no longer stress about people walking by my patio or kids playing outside because instead of reacting out of fear, she now looks to me or my Fiance for guidance. We also have a cat who she was fearful of but is now calm when around him and allows him to walk around without her trying to lunge at him. When she has the one off fear reaction the e-collar provided by Ridgeside K9 has made a huge difference in Honey's behavior and gets her to calm down a lot faster than before she was in training. I truly cannot thank the Team at Ridgeside K9 enough for getting my girl to a better headspace and making it possible for me to keep my sweet Honey 🍯 ❤️ It was truly worth every penny I spent.

Jay and Nikki and their staff are amazing. We have now had 2 dogs trained by them. Our most recent experience is with Pete, our now 7 month old Labrador Retriever. I reached out to Jay as soon as we knew the date our puppy would be arriving. We knew we wanted to start training as soon as Pete reached the best age. We took Pete when he reached 18 weeks. Our goal was to have a well behaved puppy who could run free on the beach and sit patiently at restaurants. Taylor worked with Pete on basic obedience and socialization with other dogs of all sizes. Then she spent time training us😁 She’s been so responsive to questions that I’ve had since we brought him home after training. Fantastic results! Pete has great manners at home. He definitely has crazy puppy energy and loves running up and down the beach, but he follows commands and returns to me as soon as I give the command. He’s a frequent visitor at all of our favorite restaurants. Quite frequently, random people on the beach compliment his obedience and are shocked that he’s so well behaved at such a young age. Excellent results! Exceptional training for the dog and owners alike! They really understand animal psychology: no yelling, no physical. They simply communicate with the dog so that the dog wants to do it! I couldn't belive my eyes!!! These trainers have tremendous experience and treat the dogs kindly and with fairness. I cannot recommend Ridgeside K9 enough! They trained our German Shepherd, Bear, and the care, love, and dedication they showed him throughout the entire process was absolutely amazing and truly unmatched. From day one, they kept us informed with updates and made us feel completely comfortable knowing our boy was in great hands. It was obvious that they genuinely cared about Bear as if he were their own. When Bear came home, he was a completely different dog. He’s still the same goofy, stubborn boy we know and love, but now he is incredibly well-behaved, listens to commands, walks nicely on a leash, and has so much better impulse control. The transformation has honestly been incredible. The training didn’t just help Bear—it gave us the tools and confidence to continue building on everything he learned. The support they provide even after training speaks volumes about their commitment to both the dogs and their owners.
