Ridgeside K9 #Ocala delivers! My rescue cocker, Chelsea was constantly on a '100." I was her third pet parent in a year's time. She pulled hard and became extremely reactive around other dogs. She barked at me for treats, to play, and whenever I got dressed. Ridgeside was my last hope. Taylor expertly worked with Chelsea and did a fantastic job. She cared about Chelsea and educated me about her breed, needs, and behaviors. She even had her groomed without charge before I picked her up. They treated her like family. Board & Train was worth every penny. I can now walk her and she travels calmly in the car. My BIGGEST DREAM came true! I can take Chelsea to a dog park now where she socializes and plays with other dogs showing no reactivity. My neighbors commented on how much calmer she is. Ridgeside K9 took my 8 month old working line high drive puppy who had me totally at my wits end and in 4 weeks turned him in to a 9 month old with impulse control and much better behavior overall. He went from no recall to excellent recall. Charles was his trainer and communicated Rocco’s progress with videos. . He then spent 4 hours when we picked up Rocco to teach us the methods used. Jay and Nikki were also very helpful and truly made us feel like family. They offer great follow up if we encounter any issues in the future or have questions. They are reasonably priced for the service and accessories they provide( for example an elevated dog bed used for teaching “place” and two different types of leashes). I highly recommend Ridgeside K9.

We brought Benny our 4 year old Redbone Coonhound for training to Ridgeside K9 after visiting several other training facilities. After meeting Jay, Nikki and Taylor we felt totally comfortable about putting our dog into their board/training program. Jay spent over two hour telling us about their approach to training Dogs and showing us their facility. At Ridgeside the dogs have the use of their totally fenced in secure property. They also live with Jay and Nikki in their home interacting with there own dogs and cats. Since Benny was a puppy he lived on our farm with very little interaction with other dogs and people. He had free run of a 10 acres fenced in with the Invisible Fence. And he obeyed the perimeter of that fence perfectly. But when new dogs or strangers (like UPS or FedEx) delivery people would enter our property or he would encounter another dogs he would show signs of aggression. His behavior would prevent us from bringing him to public places. After his training, it was pointed out to us that his aggressive behavior was because of lack of confidence or nervousness. Taylor at Ridgeside K9 has done a fantastic job training Benny to except commands on both the leash and the E collar. He’s now a completely new dog! He now goes into a down position when asked and stays in this place, even though we leave or walk away. Now we can take him to even stores like Tractor Supply and be around strangers and other dogs while staying cool, calm and collected in a sitting our down position. We can’t thank Taylor and Ridgeside K9 enough for helping Benny become the lovable gentleman he always was. Our experience at Ridgeside K9 has been excellent. Both in the care and handling of Benny and the teaching and time spent with us at pick up after his 30 days of training. We are super excited about now having a place where Benny can feel at home if we need to board him for a couple of days or when we go on vacation. Thank Jay, Nikki and Taylor at Ridgeside K9 👏👏👏👍

We had an amazing experience at Ridgeside K9 Central Florida with Kendall as our dog’s trainer! We dropped off our black lab and picked up what felt like a completely different dog — in the best way possible! Before training, he was full of energy and chaos: grabbing everything in sight, jumping on counters, and pushing every boundary. Now he happily goes to his “place,” waits patiently for his food, and spends time calmly sniffing instead of grabbing and running off. Kendall worked wonders with him and gave us the tools to keep things consistent at home. Highly recommend her and the whole Ridgeside K9 team for anyone wanting a happier, better-behaved pup!

After trying multiple dog trainers we finally came across Ridgeside K9 and team and knew we found what we were looking for and someone we trusted with our animals. Both of our dogs are completely different but had the same issues. Both struggled with leash reactivity and social awareness with other dogs. We could bring them in public but once they saw another dog they would get reactive and start barking immediately. They just finished their 4 week board and train and are completely different animals. Both Kendal and Taylor did a fantastic job tailoring the training to each dogs personality. We have brought the dogs to busy walks and parks were there are a lot of dogs running around and they couldn’t be bothered. I know they are in a better headspace and it allows us to enjoy hanging out with them even more. The best part about this place is that the whole staff makes you and your dogs feel like family. We highly recommend this and are so happy with our decision.
