Ridgeside K9 Knoxville

Wow where do I begin. From the first evaluation, Mike identified our dog Knox’s triggers and behaviors immediately, and detailed how their training program would benefit Knox. Having a reactive dog who has bitten us on walks due to reactivity with other dogs two times was extremely stressful. Mike was very encouraging and honest about how their program would approach Knox’s stims and triggers and make his reactivity manageable long term. We decided to do the 6 week board and train program due to his history of aggressiveness. After 6 weeks, Erica (Knox’s trainer) felt he would benefit from additional time and attention, and kept him an extra week at no additional cost to us. When Knox came home he was a completely new dog. He still had his same triggers that we had to learn how to manage, but he actually listened to us and responded to our commands and corrections. Erica and Mike both spent several hours with us after his training program ended, even traveling to our apartment multiple times to practice and train us on handling him with different triggering situations. Mike even came with us to our first vet appointment to show us how to handle Knox in an environment where he is high stress and nervous. I cannot say enough positive things about Ridgeside K9, we were on the fence about even starting training with Knox, but after meeting with Mike and learning more about how their program benefits the dogs in the long run, we were sold. I am beyond grateful to Mike and Erica, and the entire Ridgeside K9 team.
