A few months into owning our new Doberman puppy, we knew that we needed a professional to help us train her. After visiting several training facilities, reading reviews, and speaking to several trainers, we knew that Ridgeside K9 Nashville was the best choice. Jeff has been wonderful to communicate with. The daily photos, videos and updates on Kendra’s progress solidified that we made the right choice. Kendra came home a happy girl and we’re just as happy with her training and results. No more leash pulling, great recall, and she places on demand without hesitation. We’re so excited to continue our training journey with Kendra now that she knows the basics, plus some! I have two 5-year-old littermate bulldog/staffy mixes with completely opposite personalities. One was very timid and struggled with fear-based aggression, while the other was extremely confident, stubborn, and openly disobedient. For years, I carried so much guilt, blaming myself for not taking the time or making the sacrifices to properly train and socialize them when they were puppies. Because of their low social skills, reactivity, constant leash pulling, and non-existent recall, they essentially couldn’t leave our home. The only places they ever went were the backyard or the vet. I couldn’t invite people over, travel without them, have them boarded, or trust anyone else to care for them. Working with Jeff completely changed everything. Through his training using an e-collar (which is humane, harmless, and incredibly effective when used correctly), my dogs did not lose their personalities… they grew into them. They are still the same dogs I love, but now they are mature, confident, and equipped with the skills they were missing. Their behavior no longer controls or limits their lives or mine. Jeff didn’t just train my dogs; he lifted years of guilt off my shoulders. Because of him, my dogs can now go on real adventures. They can meet new people, experience new places, and enjoy the world instead of being confined by their own fear and disobedience. Their behavior is no longer the thing holding us back. I also want to recognize Judy, the administrator, who was always available throughout the entire process. This 3week training was the first time I had ever been away from my dogs for more than 4hrs. She was empathetic, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Her support, responsiveness, and reassurance made the training journey feel far less overwhelming and brought so much comfort along the way. Most importantly, this training made it possible for me to open my home as a foster home for children and youth. This is something I have wanted to do for so long but I knew that if I didn’t get my dogs the help they needed it would never be possible. I no longer worry about my dogs adding stress, creating unsafe situations, or setting a poor example. Instead, they are calm, well-behaved, and a positive presence in my home…something I never thought would be possible before. When Jeff brought my boys back he kept it real with me and let me know where my own weaknesses were in handling and training. I was a nervous wreck after years of failed attempts and chaos with my dogs. I truly feel set up for success now and it’s up to me now to maintain leadership of my pack…of course with Jeff always being 1 phone call away for advice or critique. I am beyond grateful for Jeff, Judy, and the entire team. If you’re carrying guilt, feeling overwhelmed, or think you’ve waited too long, please know that it’s not too late. This training truly changed my life, my dog’s lives. And they actually wanted to leave with Jeff when he brought them back to me.. that is just an ode to the bond he built with them and the fun they had together. So if I need boarding in the future they will be with RSK9 for sure!

Jeff is amazing! My dog Moose stayed with him for three weeks, and he came back like a whole new dog. You can really see the time, effort and love Jeff puts into every dog he works with. Moose learned so much, and it was obvious he was genuinely cared for the entire time. Jeff also took the most incredible photos of Moose! Not just regular iPhone snaps but actual professional quality pictures. He even dressed him up for the holidays as a cute little reindeer! Moose is definitely going to miss him, and I’ll for sure be using Jeff for boarding in the future. If you love your pup leave them with Jeff. He’s the best!!

So glad I found Ridgeside K9. My 3yr old GSD/Lab mix is extremely excitable and anxious with a high prey drive. He is not an easy dog to train. After 2 weeks with Jeff, there was noticeable improvement! Unfortunately, his worst behaviors only came out around myself and my husband, so Jeff wasn’t able to correct these behaviors while we weren’t present. No worries - Jeff came back to our home twice and helped us work through those issues until we felt confident in our ability to make corrections and continue training for the long haul. I am once again hopeful and believe we can actually train this dog! We still have a ways to go, but the improvement we’ve already seen is incredible. We are already able to loose leash walk and hold place when guests come over (an impossible task before). I would highly recommend for anyone who is on the fence - this was the right investment for my family, and I feel confident it will be for yours too!
