If I could give 10 stars I would. There is no way I can put into words how thankful we are that we sent our 100 lb wild and most hard headed lab we’ve ever had to Jeff and Ridgeside K9. Charley was almost impossible to walk on a leash. He is strong and bullheaded and when he wanted to go, he was gone and it was not enjoyable or safe for me to walk him so I didn’t. I called various trainers within a 1 hour radius of where we live but as soon as I talked to Jeff I told my husband I found our trainer. As soon as you meet him in person you’ll know you made the right decision as well. He’s retired military and immediately you trust him and know your dog will be safe. Every single evening Charley was away, we received videos or pictures. That made being away from our baby much more bearable. Jeff brings your dog back to you and then trains you in your environment and he is a great teacher. He explains things clearly and is patient and so encouraging. The best part is he makes sure you understand that his support is for a lifetime. If you have a problem or question or even a change in environment call him and he’ll be there to help. I am so happy to report that I can finally enjoy taking Charley on a walk. He’s like a new dog but he’s also still his sweet, lovable, funny self. Thank you so much Jeff and Ridgeside K9. I didn’t think I could love my baby any more than I already did but I do thanks to you!

Working with Jeff was a game changer for us! Clark - our 1 year old boxer - was anxious and reactive to the point where it was limiting our lives. It was hard to have people at our house because he was so nervous he would bark the whole time; he couldn’t walk in busy areas because he would pull too much, and we were anxious to leave him with dog sitters because his behaviors were so unpredictable. From day one, Jeff was professional and patient. He spent lots of time getting to know Clark and my goals for him. He was transparent about what he could do for us, and never promised us “the world” like other trainers have done. Clark quickly warmed up to him and after spending 2 weeks at board and train with Jeff he is a completely different dog! He is calm, confident, and still has his goofy personality. While he was gone, Ridgeside was available 24/7 and sent daily updates. Additionally, when they say they support you for the life of the dog, they mean it! Jeff has answered my questions since being back and has even offered to help correct behaviors if necessary. I truly cannot recommend Ridgeside and Jeff enough!

We couldn’t recommend Jeff more! We got Ozzie from the animal shelter a little over a year ago and were dealing with random, intermittent episodes of resource guarding and aggression towards our other dog Miller with seemingly no triggers to warn us. His recall needed work, his prey drive was through the roof, and he struggled to control his excitement around new dogs. Jeff drove all the way to our house to meet us privately to make sure he was the right fit and spent the time explaining his methods and making us comfortable. Ozzie left with him a few weeks later for a 2 week board and train, and we are AMAZED with the progress he came back with. Jeff sent us photos every night detailing the work and progress Ozzie was making (great photos too, not your generic iPhone ones). When Ozzie returned he was a much more confident dog with a better handle on his emotions. His recall and loose leash walking is night and day from before, and he overall just listens better and has a calmer demeanor. Jeff spent 3 hours with us on return to teach us everything we needed and make us confident with the collar. We literally can not recommend Jeff and his team more, he truly loves these dogs and gives his all to help each one succeed!

We couldn't be more thankful and appreciative of Ridgeside K9 Nashville! Best experience we could have ever wanted. Two of our dogs are so sweet but chaotic and not good listeners. Barkers, Jumpers, Fence Climbers, and they were starting to become a handful. They were with Jeff for a few weeks and they came back completely changed (they were still the goofy and loving dogs) but so well behaved. Now they understand when we're communicating with them and giving them commands. Our dogs also had some allergy's while with Jeff, and he took such good care of them and took them to the vet, kept us updated the entire time. We looked forward to the daily photo updates of our dogs and seeing their progress. At the end of training, Jeff spent the evening with us, teaching us how to communicate with our dogs and continue their training to set them up for continued success. Coming from a dog mom that is an extremely cautious "helicopter dog mom", I was nervous about just handing our dogs off to someone when we first started our search for a trainer. But from the first call I knew they would be in good hands, and they were! Jeff always reassured me, and made us feel comfortable, communicated incredibly, always answered all of our questions and explained everything so well. Our dogs absolutely loved him! Judy was wonderful to work with getting us scheduled and answering any and all questions we had! She is the sweetest and made us feel so welcome from the first call. Always responded quickly and always available when we needed anything. My husband and I highly recommend Jeff and Ridgeside K9 Nashville!

I rescued Honey six months ago from the animal shelter here in Humphreys County. As you can see by the photographs, she is a beautiful mixed hound. Since I’ve had her, she’s always been very playful to the point several times she knocked me down. Being in my 70s, that’s not a good thing. After interviewing several kennels/training schools, I determined K-9 would probably be the best. I could’ve not been more correct. After a conversation with Jeff, he drove all the way out here to see what environment Honey lived in. Jeff took her home that day with him and had her for two weeks. When he returned her over a week ago. She was not the same dog that had left here. She is so much a better dog that actually listens to the commands that I give her. It makes both mine and her life so much happier. Before she was trained, she would jump up on people in a friendly way, but now she responds to when I give her the command to get down she does. There was a time for the last couple of months that my friends and family did not want to come around because she was so rowdy and being such a big pup she could hurt you. Now she still has her spirit, but she can control it. There’s no way I could give the accolades to Jeff that he deserves. I would recommend him time and time again.
