Do I need puppy training?

It is imperative for puppies to receive proper foundation training. This is particularly important during the critical period which occurs from birth to 16 weeks. During this time puppies should be exposed to as much of the world as possible. Although we understand that they are still very immature and not capable of advanced behaviors it is during this time that puppies can be taught how to learn. Once they understand this process, using a marker based system, they can easily learn throughout their life!

What does our board and train entail?

Training starts immediately upon arrival for a board and train. Dogs will be taught a marker based system of learning. They will be taken out in the community several days a week and during this time they will be required to be neutral to their environment. Throughout training, we will continue to add in distance, duration and distraction to proof all commands and ensure a calm state of mind. We do not believe in one standard training method for all dogs. We will work with owners to build a program to meet the specific needs of their dog and family. We make ourselves available throughout training to answer any questions and alleviate any concerns. We pride ourselves on our transparency and dedication to keeping owners up to date and informed on the progress of training.

We can’t say enough great things about Emily! She trained both of our mini dachshunds and completely changed our lives. We first sent our puppy to her 3-week board and train, and she came back so well-mannered and confident that we decided to send our 8-year-old dachshund, Wilson, too. Wilson had high anxiety, barked constantly, and was very reactive. Honestly, we weren’t sure anything could help him. Emily worked wonders. He came back calmer, happier, and truly like a new dog. Both dogs now know how to heel, stay in place, and even stay calm when the doorbell rings—things we never thought possible! Tara was as great, communicative business owner throughout the process. She stayed plugged in the whole time to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied with the training. This was absolutely worth the investment—our dogs are happier, our home is calmer, and we finally feel in control. We’re so grateful!!

When first getting a boxer we knew we would have a dog with a lot of energy, but our puppies energy quickly turned into pure chaos. From the hours from 5pm-10pm every night we could not control Winston. From barking at us while we were eating, to biting us every chance he got, we knew we needed to take next steps. Peja had Winston for four weeks and in the last 5 days since he has gotten home it has been night and day! He still has puppy energy but he now knows how to calm himself down when we tell him “place” and his walking on the leash is amazing! He is much more manageable and we can enjoy time with our sweet boy. Overall we have learned how to better communicate with Winston and he listens to us so well! I couldn’t recommend Peja more and I’m so impressed with the progress that was made in just 4 weeks. In one picture you will see him sleeping on his cot with other two dogs around, and that would have never happened without Peja, he would have been chasing those dogs around for hours. We are so proud of him!

I would highly recommend. I have worked with is company a few times. I appreciate their professionalism, friendliness and commitment to making sure my fur baby is on the right track. Skye went and spent two weeks with trainer Emily. She’s the dog I knew she could be. Nothing crazy 🤪 but she has manners, she respects me and my family. She’s still her silly self…. But that’s what I wanted. She can now join me on my daily activities, the companion I hsve always wanted. Honestly tears with the change in my fur baby. I just had my boy Charlie with Cori and he did so good with her! She is amazing! Great communication everyday and the love she showed my baby I am so grateful! He is like a new pup!

Cori was my dogs trainer, I have absolutely nothing but amazing words for her! she kept me in the loop about every little detail and sent me daily updates(videos and pictures) every single day she trained! i’m so glad i trusted her with my dog as when i got her back after the 4 weeks she seemed more level headed and had such a better understanding of what was expected from her while still having her goofy personality showing loud and proud. I absolutely love the work Cori has done with her and i will be forever grateful!
