Our 7 month old golden retriever, Memphis, spent 3 weeks with Andrew at RidgesideK9 Tidewater and participated in their board and train program. Memphis is a high energy puppy who learned a few basics with us but we needed help with increasing his socialization, addressing his impulse control and tweaking his manners (jumping on folks when greeting them, recall, etc.). Wow!!! We were thoroughly impressed with the results from Andrew with RidgesideK9 Tidewater!!! Memphis returned to us with behaviors that exceeded our expectations. Andrew spent time with both my husband and me, making sure that we saw all of Memphis’ new skills and how to utilize the new commands for our daily life. Training with us took place at a busy marina and campground during Memorial Day weekend and with all of the distractions, Memphis succeeded in every way! We highly recommend RidgesideK9 and Andrew is fantastic! We appreciate your patience and skills with Memphis…and us!
Didn’t actually use them but I brought my aggressive rescue in and the guy did pretty good with him in the leash. I recommend this place as they will treat your dog with calmness and not aggression back.

Matt and his team at RidgesideK9 Tidewater are fantastic and I would highly recommend them for your training, boarding or daycare needs. My mini-Australian Shepard did the 3week board and train with Chris Martinese and it’s made a significant difference. Chris is an excellent trainer and I know how to better communicate with him and can now ensure his safety in all scenarios. He’s still my wonderful pup but now I enjoy our walks even more and he can heel, recall and it’s made our bond even stronger. Scheduling and pickup/drop off for board and daycare is also very easy and I love getting the daily updates on how he’s doing. It’s a huge bonus they continue to work on training at daycare too!!

We had a great experience with this training company. With a 1 yr old we needed help training our pup. They helped us jump start the process with the puppy training. Really helped the pup get out of his shell and start learning the basics. I was definitely hesitant on getting help with the puppy stage but it was worth it. A lot of the frustration and headache was alleviated. I already have my hands full with the kid. Definitely using them for all future trainings!! Plus I appreciated the help with getting all members of the family on the same page. I live in a multigenerational home so you can imagine the variety of "back in my day" habits. It's nice to have back up and support.
