FirstBarkMy husky Smudge was boarded for about 2 weeks at this facility and she had a fantastic time. She suffers with separation anxiety but every update photo I was sent she looked happy as can be. I’ll definitely be using them again for our next trip!

The ease of booking doggy daycare, dropping off, and picking up is a dream. Our dog is excited to pull into the parking lot and perfectly worn out when he’s picked up. For someone with a crazy and hectic work schedule, I am soo happy we found Ridgeside!

Do not board your dog here. This is gonna be a long one. **(TLDR: our dog returned home after a 4 day stay with a fractured tooth that needed to be extracted and a terrible skin infection that needed steroids and antibiotics. She either missed two meals or was fed the wrong food. The staff is also not good with communication.)** We boarded our dog Layla here March 30th-April 3rd of this year. (I debated on whether or not I wanted to write this review because I hate to bash smaller businesses, but I'd like everyone to be aware of what happened to our dog so you can avoid this facility.) When we dropped off we were told they would post photos of our dog. We checked their page daily looking for pictures but none were posted. I understood, they're probably busy. They also told us we could text them whenever to see how our baby was doing. We were busy on our trip so we texted them and got no response. When we picked up Layla that monday, they said she did well, no complaints. Once we got home, I could tell she was acting off. She would flinch or cry whenever I tried to pet her. Upon further examination I discovered she had a fractured tooth and a painful skin rash in multiple areas. I later unpacked her bag from her stay to find 2 bags of food were left. I always pre-bag her meals when boarding with the days and AM/PM written on the bags. I packed the perfect amount of bags so she either missed two meals or she was fed the wrong food. Either way, it doesn't make sense. After calling the facility and telling them what we found, we were told "this is a risk you take when boarding your dog" and we got no where with the staff. I have worked at multiple boarding facilities for 4+ years and never have I seen anything like this happen. My dog has also boarded at multiple places and we've never had ANY issues. Good thing I work at an animal hospital because I got a huge discount. Otherwise her surgery, exams, and all the meds would've been super expensive and the facility obviously wasn't going to chip in for something that happened under THEIR supervision. I have no idea what happened while she was there and I probably never will know, but I do know I will never be taking her to Ridgeside K9 again. Edit to add: My dog has never chosen to skip a meal in the 4 years I've owned her (even if she's not feeling great). She gets crated regularly and has never chewed her kennel. I wasn't looking for a response but only to warn fellow dog parents. Thanks anyways :)
The really helpful staff are just one of the many wonderful things about this place. I loved being greeted at the door by the lovely young lady on reception (Kenna, I think) who made my experience one to remember and I will not hesitate to make a return with my Australian Shepherd. My dog came home so much more well behaved than when I dropped him off. Up The Wahs!
